Stinking Lizaveta's announce new LP, 2009 Tour Dates

by Black Bubblegum

SV

Philly prog-jazz-doom trio Stinking Lizaveta have announced the release of Sacrifice & Bliss on Mar 31st via the mighty At A Loss (current home of Deadbird). Check out a trio of tracks streaming at their myspace.

Instead of turning to the maniacal Steve Albini for production duties (like they did on 2007's Scream of the Iron Iconoclast), the band employed Sanford Parker (Minsk, producer of the last Nachtmystium and a slew of other great releases) as head knob-twiddler on this album. Check out the LP cover and tracklisting below.

This is Stinking Lizaveta's fifth LP jawn (sorry, had to.. they're from Philly), having released their first three albums on Joe Lally's (Fugazi) fallen Tolotta Records, home to Wino's Spirit Caravan and The Obsessed, as well as Dead Meadow, Othrelm, and others. By the way, Wino's new album Punctuated Equilibrium drops Tuesday.

While we wait for Sacrifice & Bliss, sate your appetite with the two-song Rights For Bicyclists single available NOW at iTunes here or if you are in Philly or Lancaster, check them out before they shove off to tour Europe in late March. All tour dates below...

Being old's cool, but being from Philly isn't.

"12:50 should kill himself"

All because someone has an honest opinion that he/she would like to share with others in a public arena. OH THE HUMANITY!!!

an opinion based on the band being from Philly is not an opinion, it's wankery

1)It's our sixth release, not our fifth.
2)If you're not from Philly just shut up with the it's not cool to be from Philly comments.
Because:
3) It's not even cool to be cool anymore so where the f--- have you been?
4)Is everybody sure that's how you spell "jawn"?
I always thought it was from "johnson" meaning thing, penis, john thomas, dick, cock, bird, cock robin....
And if you're really cool because you live in Philly you know it's "johnsky" as in, "Boy, you is all kinds a fuxed up. Gimme dat johnsky back before I whack you upside the head with your own shoe."
Get it?
If you are from Philly and you just can't resist cutting down your own hood, then I can mostly understand that at least a couple days a week. But if you find yourself shitting where you sleep any more than that then you're stinking up the place and you should move somewhere else.

how come these guys never headline NYC?

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 6:22 PM

We've headlined the Knitting Factory and the Midtown and some other spot I can't remember and we've headed at North 6th when it was North 6th in Brooklyn...
I don't know. If we hadn't headlined in NYC then the answer to your question would be something like: the music biz is wierd. Do you understand it?
I've been in it a fuck of a long time and I really don't even think I have a clue.
Your,
C
