Mr Small

Hopefully you made it dancing through to today and didn’t let the cold stop you from getting down. Stay warm and keep moving – there are plenty of dance-worthy reasons to brave the cold this Saturday (1/17) and next week too…

Firstly, here are all the details on Eamon Harkin & Justin Carter‘s new weekly party mentioned at the end of my last post, Mister Saturday Night:

He’s moving into Santa’s Party House, with Eamon and Justin on January 17th, and they’ve invited a couple of top-notch folks over for the evening. Kerri Chandler, the gent that’s been making classic dance music over the past seventeen years, is finally stepping foot in NYC to play live. (It’s been too long!) And you’ll never believe who’s going to be in the basement: JD Twitch from Optimo–all the way from Glasgow! Haven’t seen him in years, but word is he’s still as crazy as ever, spinning everything from gospel music to punk funk. James F!@.$%^ Friedman and The Twilite Tone will be joining them as well.

And then, get this; on January 24th, he’s doing it all over again. Tortured Soul–that irresistibly dancey band with the drummer that sings–are playing a long live set upstairs, while DJ Premier (the one from Gang Starr!) plays downstairs with DJ Eclipse. Yup. Couldn’t believe it either. Of course Mister Saturday Night’s good friends Cocktails and Dancing are going to be there for both weeks, and when those ladies come around, you can pretty much bet that Getting Laid is going to show up.

Should be fun. You guys should really get together.

Be sure to check out the interview and mix from JD Twitch over at Eamon’s blog.

If you didn’t get enough disco Friday night, you can hear some more at Public Assembly where Play It Loud

…a COVER FREE, CARE FREE and BOREDOM FREE night of Boogie, Gritty-Disco, Post-Disco, Soulful-Disco, Italo-Disco and everything else D-I-S-C-O!

is happening with Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area, Son of Sound, and Doug Gomez:

Resident Advisor got deep with Move D. Check it out, download his mix at the top of the post, and consider catching him at 12 Turns 13:

Also on Saturday (1/17), Romanthony is at Love!

Romanthony is a triple threat: DJ, producer, and singer. Club croon-dog (the voice on Daft Punk’s “One More Time” and “Too Long”) and soulful spinster, this revivalist acid-house producer is coming to LOVE on Saturday. Romanthony’s music spans several genres — House, R&B, Garage, Breakbeat, Hip hop etc. Most recently, his hit “Curious” was remixed by Treasure Fingers and Laidback Luke did his take on the Romanthony classic “Let Me Show You Love”.

You can download Romanthony’s forthcoming release, “Away From U”, at the top of this post, and there are tons of excellent, earlier Romanthony tracks over at Solid Goldberger. Check them out and leave Ethan a comment to make him feel better about missing one of his favorite deejays/producers Saturday night.

Advanced tickets available here, $15 at the door.

One last option for Saturday – Fixed is back at Le Poisson Rouge with Max Tundra who you can read alot about, as well as download a few tracks, in Bill’s post:
