Tyvek (first), Kurt Vile (second), and Psychedelic Horseshit (third) played Less Artists More Condos - a loft space / DIY venue in Manhattan, on Friday night (1/9). Nick Masi told me that even though he loves Tyvek, Psychedelic Horseshit were his favorite of the night. To quote, "Anonymous | January 12, 2009 12:42 PM",

Tyvek were pretty good at Less Artists - they were touring with their stripped down lineup (with a new bassist too) - so their set was a tad rough - but still pretty good - just not as tight and fiery as they usually are.

Psychedelic Horseshit was definitely a surprise (and the highlight) - their new material was fucking fantastic - dude's gonna put out a great record this year.

More pictures from that show (the first of three Tyvek shows that happened in NYC over the weekend), below...

A strange pairing of bands with the crowd & 'venue.' I guess the yuppie vibe is unavoidable if you're talking about a huge loft space right on W3rd. Kinda felt like the kind of place that the first season of the real world was filmed in. The 'Eric Neis' character up top seemed like a nice enough resident, but yeah...the whole thing was strange.

what time will daft punk take of their shirts?

Posted by Anonymous | January 12, 2009 9:55 PM

"how do you hear about these shows?"

well firstly it helps to have a social life and friends with relevant interests. it also helps when you don't rely on getting all of your music news and show information from blogs and message boards because that makes you really lame, out of touch and boring.

hey does anyone remember the days of word of mouth? or was that pre-napster so you've never actually experienced it?

that being said, i don't like seeing shows at that place. the bidet in the bathroom beneath the framed GBH posters makes me feel like a slimeball. who the fuck lives there? rich punks?

Wow...I can't believe how bored everyone looks. Or maybe they were just trying really hard to be cool.

If I were judging solely by the crowd, the show sucked!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2009 6:41 PM

does anyone have more pictures from any of the tyvek shows?
