Just tried Bonnie Prince tickets -- I was offered two on the lower mezz for $43 each (after fees). Fuck that noise.

He's very inconsistent live. That price makes it not worth the risk.

i got orchestra seats for 33.5 for the oldham show. i don't know why mezz seats would be more.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2009 12:18 PM

i love oldham, and i like his live shows, but i'm not paying $33 (before fees), esp. not when fans in chicago pay $18. fuck that.

12:18 --

The $33.50 you paid was before fees. Back row, second balcony seats cost the same as front row orchestra at this show. Lame.

How is that lame? It's first come first serve. The only difference is that people who show up late to the show aren't able to slime their way up to the front.

both Conchords shows are sold out!

Posted by wembley | February 6, 2009 1:51 PM

oldham will put on a fine show in this big old theater. and 33.50 plus 20% in fees, ridiculous though it may be, is perfectly within reason for such a grand occasion.

Yeah, Oldham never plays New York. Who knows when he'll come back? The dude is at the top of his powers, and seeing him in such a majestic place is a once-in-a-lifetime event. I got two tickets for about $90, and even though it's putting me out of groceries for a little while, it's well worth it.
