Lily Allen

On February 10th, 2009, Capitol Records will release It's Not Me, It's You, the follow-up to Lily Allen's critically acclaimed 2007 debut, Alright, Still. Recorded at Eagle Rock Studios in Los Angeles, the album finds Lily in top form, creating a record Blender's recent "In The Studio" feature described as "part God, part country and all middle finger." Allen wrote and recorded the album's 12 songs with producer Greg Kurstin (the bird and the bee), who worked with her on three songs for Alright, Still - "Everything's Just Wonderful," "Alfie" and "Not Big."

"We decided to try and make bigger sounding, more ethereal songs, real songs," says Lily, who will be touring the U.S. in the spring. "I wanted to work with one person from start to finish to make it one body of work. I wanted it to feel like it had some sort of integrity. I think I've grown up a bit as a person and I hope it reflects that."

All of those spring tour dates haven't been announced yet, but it looks like Lily will be taking Natalie Portman's Shaved Head out on the road with her in April. Surfaced dates include April 1st at House of Blues in San Diego and April 20th at Roseland Ballroom in NYC. The latter goes on sale Friday at 10am via

The Bird and The Bee have shows scheduled in February and March in support of their new album Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future (out now).

lyli allen... i went to see her at the Roseland two years ago, she was smoking on stage, completely wasted, she didn't remember half of her own lyrics, worst show ever...
the bird and the bee on the other hand, probably one of the best electro-pop album of the year! brilliant.

Agree with 9:50. Despite the h8-ers at Pitchfork, the new Bird And The Bee album is great.

aw... i thought lily allen was charming when i saw her perform. she was smoking (literally) onstage and drinking goldschlager like it was going out of style. her mum was watching off to the side. funny juxtaposition. anyway, the girl can SAAAAAANG! hopefully, she's matured since then. in any case, it should be a super fun show with natalie portman's shaved head.

haha i saw her at bonnaroo and she finished a bottle of Jager on stage. but yeah, even with the smoking and drinking on stage, she can sing really well!

yeah she was trashed at bonnaroo. i don't think she even used up her entire set time.

maybe 4/19 will be another nyc area show? warsaw again?

i'd hate to get tix to roseland and have her announce another date. would rather go to any other venue in nyc than roseland.

^^^ Nope. She's playing in Boston on the 19th...Looks like the Roseland is the sole NYC date on this leg of the tour.

Lily has moved fast forward on many fronts. I can't wait to see her. Combined with Natalie Portman's Shaved Head the show at Roseland will be epic!

Rumor has it that Halle Berry will be shaving her head for a movie.
