SOUNDFIX SOUND FIX FAQ
Q: What's the price of admission at your in-stores? How can I get tickets?Sound Fix will, sadly, have to change the answer of "Can my band come play at your space?" to "No" after February 28th because that's the date of the last in-store (in-lounge) ever. The whole lounge closes soon after.
A: Our in-stores are free to the public and seating is general admission.Q: Where do the bands play?
A: In the Sound Fix Lounge, behind the record store.Q: What time should I show up?
A: Please don't call and ask us this. We don't know. Every show is different. Sometimes people show up an hour early to get a good spot, sometimes the place is empty a half hour before showtime. If you really love the band and want a good spot, get here early. That's all we can say.Q: Is Sound Fix one word or two?
A: Two words! Please do not spell it "Soundfix." It really drives me crazy....
Q: Can my band come play at your space?
A: Unlikely. But it can't hurt to ask....
Q: Where is Beacon's Closet?
A: A block and a half from the store, down N. 11th St. Please stop asking.Q: What's the greatest album of all time?
A: Depending on my mood, Neil Young's Tonight's the Night or the Who's Sellout
Marissa Nadler will be the final performer at the Brooklyn venue. It's one day after her show at Greenpoint's Lutheran Church, and a few days before the one she's playing at Joe's Pub.

This is not cool. I'm guessing it's because of all the noise complaints. I stopped by on Friday and the cops showed up. I remember what happened for Amanda Palmer.

Haven't they shut down and reopened a couple times now? I remember I was at a re-opening show there that Mountain Goats played. It was like a damn oven in there but it was a blast

Really does suck that it's being shut down. Thankfully I've gotten to see some amazing shows there too. My favorite, John Vanderslice.

"It was my absolute favorite place to go see shows in ny."
You must live in the neighborhood. I've never even been there.

Geez, I can see (or hear, rather) why the neighbors complained about the Amanda Palmer performance.

"You must live in the neighborhood. I've never even been there."
I agree. I don't live there so I never bothered with these shows.

I saw a great acoustic Tapes N Tapes set at Sound Fix. Also got to see Sarah Silverman, Todd Barry and other outstanding comedy for free. Sad to see it go.
