My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan is playing w/ Dan Auerbach who is playing SXSW (and other places)
The Black Keys (Dan) @ Terminal 5 (more by Mike Lerner)

Dan Auerbach's drummer Bob Cesare will not be able to make his upcoming tour due to a death in his family. In his place will be My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan.
Dan, known most for being 1/2 of the Black Keys, kicks off his tour in Washington DC on Saturday and will end up in Austin for SXSW on March 18th.
Tickets are still on sale for the March 2nd & 3rd shows in NYC, both of which are with Those Darlins.

I'm surprised there are still tickets left for the Bowery show. Hopefully they are not overselling it and it will be a comfortable show.

the new album, to me, sounds a good deal like early Black Keys. IMO, a great thing to sound like. It's more straight ahead blues than Attack and Release, showcasing Dan's hot licks.

why does the MMJ drummer never close his mouth?

Are you sure you downloaded his solo album? I don't think it sounds anything like The Big Come Up.

Great album and Bowery will definitely be a great show. If you like Black Keys, there is no reason not to go. The style of the album is not that different from the Black Keys material.
