What better way to enjoy winter's chill (with global warming, we don't talk about harsh winters anymore!!!) than to spend a few evenings outdoors warming up the brain and loosening the muscles?Partying outdoors in the winter is all the rage. This past weekend Zach Dilgard headed up to Montreal for Igloofest, and he took some pictures while he was there. More of them below...For the 3rd year, Igloofest will take over the Jacques-Cartier Pier for 6 evenings of pure wintry, festive fun on January 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31, 2009!
Co-produced by Piknic Electronik and the Quays of the Old Port, you are invited to the igloo kingdom to enjoy performances from the best artists of the electronic scene, a unique and punchy audio-visual ambiance, a wacky ski suit competition, and an electrifying atmosphere that is guaranteed to give you the hottest nights of winter!!!

I settled, for the most part, on XMU - XM Sirius' program of new "alternative" music - much of which is written about on this site. The occasional DJ chatter was informative, but the tone seemed to emanate from one place - New York City(!) - not my idea of a road-trip regional discovery.
