Ryan Adams

Four-time Grammy Award nominee Ryan Adams will release the digital-only EP Extra Cheese (Lost Highway/UMe), exclusively via iTunes on February 10, 2009. Extra Cheese features six previously issued tracks plus the previously unreleased "Hey There, Mrs. Lovely," for the recession-friendly price of $3.98.

Adams has been performing "Hey There, Mrs. Lovely" live since 1999 but has never song committed the fan favorite to a studio record until now. The other six tracks on the EP are a sampling of love songs culled from Adams' impressive oeuvre: "Answering Bell" from 2001's Gold, "Desire" from 2002's Demolition, "Blossom" from 2005's Cold Roses, "Two" from 2007's Easy Tiger, "My Love For You Is Real" from the same year's Follow The Lights EP, and "Evergreen" from Ryan & the Cardinals' most recent album, Cardinology, released last fall.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals are on tour for a month [possibly for the last time] beginning February 20.

Speaking of love, Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore are now engaged.

She's got her hands full with that drama queen. I wonder how many times he's quit music, cigarettes, painting, and poetry in the past week.

People often attack Ryan Adams for having some traits that many creative people have. He is often accused of being over dramatic, emotional etc... These "faults" of his are probably what drove him into writing songs in the first place. I happen to be of the opinion that he writes better songs than many of his peers. I agree that he is too much at times, so I can see where a lot of the criticism comes from. I guess it's better to get a reaction from people than not to get one at all. Keep being annoying Ryan if that means you will continue to write and share your music with us.

Mandy, stop fishing for cool points with your xtc cover. thank you.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 10:58 AM

Wouldn't it be nice if all the comments on here were "Congratulations!" or "I wish them the best."

I don't know much about their careers.

I know some people are just joking around, but I think some of the hateful comments are coming from people who will be spending Valentine's Day alone and they are upset about this. There's no shame in being alone. You don't have to be in a relationship, but don't take it out on others.

Wanting people to be happy is good.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 12:36 PM

I hate people who hate on the haters.

If we had no haters this blog would be full of kiss-asses.

Boring.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 12:42 PM

12:42: I said that some people are just joking. I think they're funny too, but I'm saying that some people take it too far.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 12:49 PM

i can't wait to hear the record he makes if she sends him packing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 2:02 PM

@ 2:02: Lol, now that's what being a music fan is all about!

Posted by Beeeeeve | February 12, 2009 2:24 PM

dump mandy!!! beg parker to take you back. its the only hope for this tragic series of events.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 3:42 PM

She looks damn good though .. lucky man

Posted by Rap Music | February 12, 2009 3:43 PM

Mandy sure gets the boys.

I mean, she hasn't had a hit record in 10 years, and she hasn't made a movie in almost as long, but somebody obviously keeps her in circulation... I'm glad she's still famous but I don't know why or how.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 4:49 PM

fucking douche!

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2009 5:25 PM

talented song writer + no talent pop star = recipe for disaster.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2009 7:30 PM

I wish them the best...they will need it...I love the comment that said "can't wait to hear the record IF she sends him packing"...should have said WHEN she sends him packing!

Ryan is an incredibly talented kook. I love him and (most of) his music unconditionally.
