Gene Ween has no luck. Langerado was cancelled shortly after it was announced he was added to it. Tonight he plays one of the shows he had to reschedule after getting sick.

When someone photographs a singer as they are moving and dancing quickly, they tend to look differently then when they are standing still.

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2009 4:20 PM

The crowd at BAM last night was awful.

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2009 4:23 PM

The RAA really were great last night. I wanna go see them again tonight! If you go, make sure you pick up a homemade copy of their album. Nice lil package and the album is wonderful.

if i had tix to the keys show tonight, i'd bail. last night's crowd was disgusting - never seen so many frat boy/bros at a show before. violently drunk, talking the entire show, pushing. just awful. in terms of fans, the black keys have jumped the shark.

to Anonymous 4:23 PM:
I agree. The girl I stood next to was a complete moron- a fuckin obnoxious airhead who talked :loudly: for the hour that Beirut was on stage. It was pretty obvious that she didn't know anything about the music. I almost wanted to knock her out..

Posted by mostly peaceful gal | February 7, 2009 11:48 PM

Beirut and Kaki King were both fantastic tonight! And so was the Vassar Symphony Orchestra!! Best part of the show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2009 11:56 PM

Wavves ROCKEDDD

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 1:01 AM

of course WAVVES rockeddd.

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 1:46 AM

tonights crowd at BAM was close to perfect...at least in the mezzanine. Respectful but still enthusiastic. No texting (yes your bright ass screen is distracting) or talking. Zach and the band seemed relaxed. Not totally sold on the Vassar kids...but they did bring some charm to the songs they guested on. I'd love to see what would come of Zach spending a year in Memphis or New Orleans, kid has got some skills and I'm excited to see what he brings over the next decade.

beirut show tonight: early contender for show of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 2:17 AM

the new york press guy wrote a thing about the crowd sucking when beirut played the music hall back in '08. i can only imagine it'd be worse at BAM, especially since you have no choice about who you get stuck next to.

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 2:31 AM

i dont understand all the fuss with beirut, it kind of bores me actually...also, to make a statement about beirut being show of the year is RETARTED

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 2:37 AM

2:37AM
no, you're "RETARTED".

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 2:58 AM

Ah shit, jokers are gonna be posting "What time does Beirut go on?" from now on.

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2009 3:10 AM

Gene Ween Band was insanely awesome.

crowd was lively as hell. i think that was one of the only times i've seen nearly everybody cheering and clapping and stomping for an encore (which unfortunately never really happened).
