U2

As previously mentioned, "U2 will be the first band to play five nights in a row on Letterman." U2 will be on the show on March 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. Their album No Line on the Horizon is out the same week (Tuesday, March 3rd).

Though tickets to Late Show with David Letterman show are free, they aren't necessarily easy to land for the date of your choice. U2 week is probably especially hard, which is why I was more than happy to be able to give away a pair of tickets for two of the shows. I have a pair for the first show which tapes Monday March 2nd, at the Ed Sullivan Theater (1697 Broadway) in NYC, from 4:30-5:30 PM. And I have a pair for the show that tapes that same day, at the same location, from 7-8 PM.

More details, and U2's new video, below...

"Get On Your Boots""

TO WIN A PAIR OF TICKETS TO LETTERMAN: Email BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: Monday Early or Monday Late). Don't put all of that in the subject line, just the taping you want. Include your full name and your age. One winner will be picked randomly from each group and contacted with further instructions. Contest ends Friday (2/27) at 2pm. Good luck!

i wish that sexy boots song didnt suck dogs balls

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 2:00 PM

u2 generally sucks dog balls and has done so for well over a decade, pushing two decades now. you'd have to pay me to sit through that tripe.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 2:06 PM

what's your price, 2:06.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 2:23 PM

Will BV be running a competition for tickets to the secret U2 show at Market Hotel next week?

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 3:28 PM

fuck u2....i honestly hate this band.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 3:53 PM

The new CD is good. If you hate this band, find a productive place to vent your energy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 4:54 PM

Yeah, and you all probably like clever bands like Thursday and Evanescence, use Hot Topic as a fashion guide or how about the CBGB's on-line catalog? And then you wear your hair like the Jonahs Brothers or some other horrible mop that someone on MTV thought was cool. So check out your worthless look in the mirror, pathetic music collection derived solely from i-TUNES and spare me of your witty comments...

Sal and Sorge need to meet Bono to thank them for recroding the Soundtrack to their lives. Check out U2itude.

Posted by Chris Sorgie | February 26, 2009 5:54 PM

new cd is good.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 6:28 PM

hahaha....Look at the U2 supports. Out in full force. Go save the world like Bono, or better yet go fuck yourselves.

what does that even mean? that if I didn't rip my music collection from all my cd's I don't know music. I have literally bought maybe 5 cd's in the past 5 years due to the fact we are in an MP3 ERA! IMaybe instead of sitting in your mother's basement using your lp to mp3 converter you should worry about your own pathetic life. Go meet a chick on eharmony, old timer. your clock is ticking. asshole.

Clearly, 4:56 PM doesn't know what BV readers are into. I say this contest should be open only to e-mail addresses that have entered previous BV contests, in order to keep out the johnnys-come-lately like 4:56 PM.

fuck u2

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2009 9:56 PM

it's weird how bono has seemed to shrink physically, yet his ego continues to grow. i'm afraid he's going to look like yoda the album around.

Posted by gov. bobby jindal | February 26, 2009 11:20 PM

bono is one egotistical fuck. he needs to continue his humanitarian efforts and quit making shitty music. he should of stopped making music a long time ago.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 12:36 AM

this new song sucks

U2 is not impressive

Posted by gabriel g | February 27, 2009 5:09 AM

wow - it's so weird that there would be U2 bashing! Who saw this coming?

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 8:50 AM

Your mom didn't see me coming. I promised her I'd pull out but I didn't!

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 9:29 AM

of course if this was 1981 this would be a u2 love fest.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 9:32 AM

this is a cool offer. thanks bv!

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 9:36 AM

it's not 1981 is the thing, and u2 fell off the cliff around 1991.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 9:48 AM

"it's not 1981 is the thing, and u2 fell off the cliff around 1991."

That's, like, your opinion dude

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 10:03 AM

Ugh. I'd rather have dental surgery.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 11:22 AM

yes yes, i dislike this thing so much, even more than dental surgery...

that when i saw a topic about it i had to click and read about it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 11:37 AM

9:29 -- i believe she said she didnt feel you because of your 2" pencil dick

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 12:00 PM

You misheard her, she said that about YOU.

Posted by 9:29 | February 27, 2009 1:13 PM

why does the dance theme from Pee Wee Herman pop into my head when reading your comments?

"I know you are, but what am I? "
"I'm rubber, you're glue. Whater you say bounces off of me and sticks to you."

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 1:37 PM

Funny you should mention Pee Wee Herman -- he screwed your mom, too.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2009 2:48 PM

uh, 12:36: you need to stop leaving snarky BV comments and go back to school.
"he should of stopped making music a long time ago."
it's he should HAVE.
Bono has done more good in the world than you will ever do.
jealous much?

For ME - and millions of other people - U2 RULES. Whatever band you like rules for YOU. Live your life and just let other people live theirs.(Regarding the 'Anonymous' person who says negative things: Just send positive thoughts & energy towards 'Anonymous' one time - in case he's a teenager or grownup who needs to be enlightened - and in case he's a neglected 10-year-old. Then move on. He might have been an abused or neglected teenager who is full of pain, anger, frustration, and angst.) I LOVE the new song 'Get On Your Boots!' Especially the line "you just don't get it, do you?"

Posted by Susan Smith | March 2, 2009 10:22 PM

This is Susan Smith. (I posted the March 2, 2009 10:22 PM comment.) I just want to make it clear I wasn't referring to the Anonymous person who posted March 2 at 7:28 PM. I agree with that anonymous person that Bono has done so much good in the world. The world needs more people like Bono. So many celebrities never use their celebrity position to do anything good except for themselves. And some celebrities actually are bad, harmful examples to young people. Bono, on the other hand, contributes to creating excellent, beautiful music, raises a family, and manages to also stand up for important, necessary causes like the ONE campaign. (www.one.org) Bravo!

Oh, Susan Smith, you seem to be far too kind a person to be worried about the anonymous commenters on Brooklyn Vegan.

Oh, Susan Smith, you seem to be far too kind a person to be worried about the anonymous commenters on Brooklyn Vegan. Your lack of sarcasm places you deep into the embattled minority here.

Good to see there is a lot of bitter sad fuckers out there with plenty of venom! If you have that much hatred towards a band you much be fairly short of a life you bunch of wankers!
