Green Apple Earth Day Festival: April 17-19, 2009

"Earth Day Network and Green Apple Festival have announced their 2009 plans for "America's Largest Earth Day Action" - simultaneous events in ten US cities over Earth Day Weekend - April 17 through 19 - that will this year focus on environmental volunteerism. The service events, coupled with Earth Day on the National Mall in Washington, DC and free "Thank You" concerts for volunteers in each city, introduce "The Green Generation", a two-year initiative that will culminate with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in 2010."More details TBA.
2009 is also the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock.

I heard Green Apple Festival is owned by one of the owners of that new LEED certified bowling alley/music venue that's opening up in Williamsburg.

I guess it should be "The World's Largest Earth Day Celebration".
Anyway, I am happy to see more and more celebrating Earth Day each year. The celebration is getting bigger & more happening. Hopefully those who attend the celebration bring back some awareness, "green" thoughts to their homes.
