Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week

Bishop AllenBishop Allen's new album, Grrr.... hits stores tomorrow, and is another dose of pitch-perfect indie pop goodness from the band.

This week is filled with releases worth your time (and ears). From the albums I have already heard, I can recommend Anni Rossi's Rockwell, Balmorhea's All Is Wild All Is Silent, BLK JKS' Mystery EP, Cursive's Mama, I'm Swollen, Handsome Furs' Face Control, Julie Doiron's I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day, Madeline's White Flag, Mirah's (a)spera, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band's self-titled disc, and Propagandhi's Supporting Caste

A two-disc remastered edition of Beth Orton's classic 1996 solo debut album Trailer Park is in stores tomorrow. Other notable reissues include a remastered edition of the BoDeans' Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams and reissues of Neva Dinova's self-titled debut and a double CD including Wheat's Medeiros and Hope And Adams.

Lloyd Cole's 4-CD collection of rarities, Cleaning The Ashtray (unfortunately only available as an import in the US) is at the top of my preorder list.

What new releases can you recommend? Have I left anything off the list?

i don't which is scarier - that Trailer Park was released 13 years ago, or that people esteemed writers on this blog (and elsewhere) would consider it a "classic" ...

the bar has been lowered, my friends!

Just to let you know, there is a Lloyd Cole shop that is selling the Cleaning Out The Ashtrays boxset

http://shop.lloydcole.com/pages/welcome

It is not an import, although it is being made by Tapete Records out of Germany.

If anyone's interested, a U.S. vinyl version of Neko Case's "Middle Cyclone" will be out in a month or two, so you don't have to shell out more money to get an import.
