Metal Machine trio

We have formed a recording unit Called BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE. We intend to put out different types of my music - from industrial to meditative to songs and all subway stops in between. Our first release is a live recording of 2 great nights live at the REDCAT in L.A. THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE. You can download it at various qualities as per your download taste. We include some pics by me. We will be putting it out as A2X CD soon - CREATE!
--Lou Reed

These two special live concert recordings of non-vocal music featuring Lou on guitar and electronics, Ulrich Krieger on tenor sax and live-electronics, and Sarth Calhoun on live processing and Fingerboard Continuum are available EXCLUSIVELY from THIS website. You can purchase both concerts in a variety of digital and physical formats, including a limited edition Deluxe Package featuring photography by Lou Reed.

Metal Machine Trio (Lou, Ulrich and Sarth) are going to play "A Night Of Deep Noise" at the Blender Theater at Gramercy - actually two nights of deep noise. The April 23rd and 24th shows may be the last ones inside the venue while it still has "Blender" in the name (which I realize is semi-useless information). $50 and $65 tickets go on sale via LiveNation.com on March 14th at 10AM.

You can stream some Metal Machine Trio, below...

The worst part is that metal machine music isn't even particularly good for the genre. $65 for an irrelevant old man doing throwback noise wank? No thanks.

i've always dug "Metal Machine Music"... but those prices are nuts. They make the Leonard Cohen shows looks downright cheap by comparison. I might shell out $20 for some Metal Machine Music... but that is just insane.

you think thurston will show up for this?

I'd like to see this, but he should be ashamed of himself with those prices.

I've seen Lour Reed do this same stuff at small clubs for $20. This is a rip.

No way Lou is going to fill this place 2 nights running unless unsuspecting buyers don't know what they are in for.

This is funny I love Metal Machine Music and am contemplating flying across country to just to hear the experience up close & in person. This isn't really much different than what he did for the Berlin "show".

damn ... did you listen to the music player ?? that stuff I'm hearing in the clip above isn't throwback

Actually, the sample is pretty solid. Night 1, near the end, very of-the-moment shit. $65? I don't know. But this music is very much like the drone/noise stuff being made now; it can hold its own.

Got my tickets and I'm SO EXCITED! Any of you haters actually listen to the album yet? It's pretty great noise music. This and "Hudson River Wind Meditations" are easily among my favorite Lou Reed solo work.
