Morrissey @ the Warner Theater in DC - Mar 14, 2009 (lagosf)

"I started my yesterday off poorly at my Brazilain Jiu Jitsu tournament. I lost my matches in the advanced division due to some poor choices on my part. I had to go up a weight class (AGAIN) in my blue belt division but got some wins and made it to the finals, where I was submitted (AGAIN) by Matt Fuller. I gave him a good fight I feel though. I then went straight to DC to see Morrissey. He played a TON of stuff off the new album and the last couple albums. I like Years of Refusal a lot, so it didn't bother me. In fact, I think Im Throwing My Arms Around Paris was his best performance of the night. He opened with This Charming Man, one of my favorite songs of all time which pleased me greatly."Morrissey's first of four NYC-area shows on his current tour happens tonight, Monday, March 16th at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ (with Red Cortez). Six of the first seven shows on the tour were cancelled (strep throat?), but he played the last three dates including Saturday night (3/14) in Washington DC. The setlist from that show below...

no "All You Need is Me" or "That's How People Grow Up"? "...Birthday Anymore" is fantastic, though

any tips on stage times tonight?

Wow, that is a thoroughly mediocre setlist. Way less psyched about the Carnegie Hall show now.

I wonder which of the NYC-area shows Kristeen Young will attend.

According to the underground Morrissey site (www.poobutton.com) he already has his set lists written for all NYC shows (they have to coordinate lighting directions). They're slightly different sets except one show has lots more Smiths. I'm psyched!

what is the most smiths songs that Morrissey had ever preformed in a show?

I am also a little disappointed in this set list. I've never seen Morrissey before and would much like to see some more of his older songs on the set list! =/

it was very disappointing on monday in nj. the first half hour was pretty solid but after best friend on the payroll, all the energy in the building was pretty much gone. i would definitely prefer suedehead, everyday is like sunday, and hairdresser on fire over 3 of those newer songs.
