"A week after Miley Cyrus shared with the world her plans to 'ruin' Radiohead after they snubbed the young starlet at the Grammy Awards, the band has responded to the singer's threat... The band wasn't amused by her story. 'When Miley grows up, she'll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement,' the band told the new issue of Us Weekly in a statement." [MTV]
"Dozens of investors who came to federal court in New York to hear Bernard Madoff's admission that he ran a $65 billion Ponzi scheme in which he lied and stole for decades applauded his jailing." [Bloomberg]
"Yet Miley is not the only star that has a beef with the band. Kanye West is another temperamental superstar who was also snubbed by the band. West told audiences at his VH1 Storytellers taping that he too was dissed by the band at the Grammy Awards" [andPOP]
"wish us all a safe journey if you still like us and you're not one of those people i have managed to offend by doing nothing xx" [Thom Yorke]
"We are working on new material" [Ed O'Brien]
"U2 celebrated the number one debut of its new album 'No Line on the Horizon' with an intimate gathering for a few friends Wednesday night." [Boston Globe]
"It's not U2, but 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' will get its own multiple dose of pop royalty this month. Prince will perform on three consecutive nights on the NBC program as he girds for the release of a pair of new albums. The mini-residency will run March 25-27; he also plans to hit the 'Tonight' stage May 28 for Leno's next-to-last night as host of the venerable talk show." [Reuters]
"Five new shows have been added to Michael Jackson's London run, bringing the total to 50, according to Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live, promoter of the shows." [Billboard]
"Hundreds of fans have queued through the night to buy the first tickets to Michael Jackson's 'final curtain call' of concerts in London." [CNN]

Who is that meant to be in between the the people that are supposed to look like Prince and Michael Jackson ? Brett and Jermaine as Prince and Michael jackson with Murray in the middle ?

radiohead didn't say that about miley. their publicist did.
Posted by ala bitchfork | March 13, 2009 8:23 AM
miley and kanye represent pure crap, overproduced pop music for the masses.
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 9:12 AM
radiohead just hit a new low
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 9:19 AM
9:12, thank you for your lovely original thoughts. No need to actually try to even listen to something if masses like it, right? If you think Miley and Kanye are the same, you're as clueless as the people to whom all classical music sound the same.

"radiohead just hit a new low"
them at their new low is still better than 99.99% of all other bands.

What is this garbage? Getting tips from MTV? How can you even call that company reliable for anything....Radiohead's publicist made that comment and not the band
Also Ed mentioned that they're touring this summer...so be on the look out for those dates

bitchfork @ 8:23 is right
it was their publicist that said that, not the band.

Ironically, "Meeting People is Easy" is on tv this weekend!
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 10:14 AM
but doesn't the publist act on behalf of the band?
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 10:15 AM
I spelt publicist wrong.lol.

thom once snubbed me at the backstreet boys concert.

Miley is 16, goddamn! I guess she was really upset if she had to leave the arena. Im gonna guess they made her cry. I mean come on a 16 year old, thats still immature, adults should not make fun of kids like that. I think in the perfect world Radiohead invites her over for the weekend or something.

3 nights of Prince >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5 nights of U2
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 11:20 AM

Miley is 16. What's Kanye's excuse?
Posted by Aaron | March 13, 2009 12:44 PM
Where and when is "Meeting People is Easy" going to be on TV?
Posted by KP | March 13, 2009 2:58 PM
to 9:43, from 9:12- you must be an angry female or a gay male, right? tell me i'm right?
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 8:17 PM
Being 16 is not an excuse. Cyrus is a brat/Kanye is an asshole
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 8:35 PM
PUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Radiohead rules! Miley needs a good spanking. Kan-gay just needs to stfu.
Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2009 9:54 PM
miley's excuse is being 16.
Kanye's excuse is.. well ... being a dumbass nigger
Posted by aewdad | March 13, 2009 9:57 PM
Age ain't nothing but a number.
Miley's 16 but she's suppose to be a "role model" to younger kids who look up to her.
Technically, she should know better and be more mature in thinking.
So saying she's 16 should be an excuse for making a comment like that especially in the entertainment business.
Kanye has no excuse either.
Even if you hate someone you should at least have a mature attitude about it.

Miley supporters include:
children
pedophiles
racists
now, just plain dumbasses
Down with the evil racist corporation that is disney!

To the the little bitch who wrote the 9:43 comment:
Kanye and Miley are meant for the masses, but that doesn't all mean music for the masses is bad.
And don't get so defensive over Kanye and Miley. We all know they aren't horrible people; they're just self-absorbed tools. I'm sure they have big hearts, etc, etc. They just suck ass too. Whereas Radiohead, for the most part, is more down-to-earth and doesn't care about being in the spotlight all the time. No big deal. Let's just relax.

"miley's excuse is being 16.
Kanye's excuse is.. well ... being a dumbass nigger"
While I understand that commenting on Brooklynvegan comments is a complete waste of time, I can't really let this one go.
To call a human being a nigger, regardless of their feelings about a band you fucking like, is completely fucking repugnant.
Well, there's four minutes of my life I'm never going to get back.
Posted by Zachary Lipez | March 13, 2009 10:53 PM
agreed. but dude. do people really like radiohead that much to care? its just a band . let it go. who cares. they all suck.
Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2009 1:49 AM
fuck miley cyrus and fuck kanye. neither one of them will ever come remotely close to accomplishing what radiohead has to date. radiohead can do whatever they want.
Posted by d | March 14, 2009 3:27 AM
Woman is the nigger of the world.
Posted by Yoko Ono | March 14, 2009 8:27 AM
i would fuck miley cyrus with a radiohead mask and kanye's dick.

10:20,
Yeah Miley and Kanye have an insane sense of entitlement.
But, did you see Meeting People is Easy? All he does is whine about how very hard it is to be famous. Geez, it must really suck to make the music you love for a living and to have everyone recognize your band as the greatest thing since the Beatles. Thom Yorke is anything but down to earth.

"i would fuck miley cyrus with a radiohead mask and kanye's dick."
xD How arousing.

I am so happy that she got snubbed.
about time she got put back in her place.
sorry miley, but no the universe doesn't revolve around you and no, we don't all love you and hannah..
and her definition of snubbed is probably "oh my god they didn't like love me? wtf?"
and as for Kanye, he has his head so far up his own arse, I'm surprised he even noticed he was at the grammys.
..perhaps miley should get over herself, and start writing her own music? - just a thought.
anyway, I'd like to see a sixteen year old girl, 'ruin' a band that has far more talent, than either her and her dad combined.
Posted by Cecilia | March 15, 2009 11:30 PM
I admire radiohead even more. I like how they reacted to the issue.
The 1st comment about entitlement was by the publicist...(and he was right). radioheads comment on their blog went something like..
'were heading home now.. wishus a safe trip if you still like us. we hope you're not one of those people who hate us for not having done anything".. something like that.
If I were Miley, I would be so ashamed of this episode ..when she 'grows up'.
