St Vincent

St. Vincent has confirmed an extensive U.S. tour in support of her new album 'Actor' due out May 5 on 4AD. The tour kicks off May 19 at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA, and includes the largest venues St. Vincent has ever headlined, plus festival performances at Sasquatch! and Bonnaroo.

St. Vincent (nee Annie Clark) will preview songs from 'Actor' next week with two performances at SXSW: 11pm on Wednesday, March 18, at the 4AD showcase at Central Presbyterian Church; and 12 midnight on Friday, March 20, at the Billions showcase at Antone's.

'Actor' is available for pre-order now. Early CD and LP orders come with a free limited edition 7" featuring the album track "Actor Out of Work," and the exclusive, non-album track "Bicycle" on the flipside.

The NYC show will take place at Webster Hall on May 20th. Tickets go on sale Friday March 20th at noon. All non-SXSW dates below...

Even though she looks like a mannequin, I'd hit it.

I know every St. Vincent post begins with this... but still....

Damn she's hot!

also... crazy how she's playing Webster Hall in NY and venues that are smaller than Bowery in Philly and DC. Think she'll sell out Webster? Would've been cool if she did a Webster and a MHOW show... that seems to be all the rage these days.

if she sets price at 10 or 15 bucks I think it may sell out. At $20, I dont think so...

bowerypresents.com lists it at $15.

"That MP3 was new two weeks ago."

If you want to get that specific, I believe it was first posted one week ago, but who's counting!

@246

black cat in dc definitely holds as much as bowery. i think it's like 800 capacity.

bowery gets my wang hard.

Black Cat seems as big as webster hall to me.

...sounds like Sade.

Not hot.

you know... I actually haven't been to the black cat since it moved to its current space... which I guess was like 8 years ago.

it used to be a lot smaller. saw some great shows at the old black cat.

is it ok to go see her play because i find her attractive? or does that mean i am a pathetic creep who needs to date more often? is it ok that i also find that transgender attractive on realworld brooklyn? does that mean that st vincent could be a transgender? i don't think so.

show was pretty good last night. the new songs sounded nice.

but st. vincent just used to be SO good live. she was incredibly weird and unpredictable. now she's just singing the new album with a backing band. nothing wrong with that... i just kind of miss the old crazy foot-stompin' annie.

and what was with the obnoxious lon gisland bros up front? i don't think they realized what show they were at.

it was hot as hell in there.

show was kinda 'eh'. I agree w/ above comment. she's gotten more normal over the past year or so, which isn't such a great thing for her live show.

who is going to these shows? boring.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2009 8:46 AM

everyone and their mother was at that show last night.

I saw St. Vincent at Black Cat in DC. Pretty good crowd, maybe 200 people? I was on vacation there with my wife, and we just stumbled upon this show. Maybe we'll catch her at the Metro in Chicago.
