"Thanks to the amazingly douchey neighbors, Sound Fix Lounge is seeing its final days. In true DYI fashion, they're going out with a bang by giving away what's left of their bar stock at this closing night party. Liquor. Beer. Fun times. All you can drink for $10, all night. That's it. Oh yeah, and make sure you say "fuck you" to the neighbors before stumbling home." [MyOpenBar.com]

I think we should all take a moment right now to realize how lucky we are to have Thurston Moore serving as the Official Caretaker of Our Memories.
Thank you, Thurston. Thank you for being an American.

aptbs was unbelivably good at nyu tonight. so fucking loud. the new stuff sounded great
Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2009 12:16 AM
All I could think of was how soon I wanted APTBS to end, it was so loud. I get the gist and I'm sure they're great musicians, but man... I couldn't even enjoy it. Not for me, I guess.
Ra Ra Riot was fantastic though! Great musicianship, really unique. They were having fun. I was very impressed.

@12:36am...
earplugs. you get used to them. bands like aptbs wouldn't be/sound the same if they didn't play that loud, but that doesn't mean you have to listen to it at that volume without protection.

Midnight showings of Watchmen

La Strada killed it last night too. Insane musicians and super excited crowd

APTBS is rad. NYU crowd was super lame. no one into any of the bands...all the bands were bummed about it. The superwasted guy was awesome. it took him 15 tries and 5 minutes to put his jacket on and half his bare ass was hanging out of his pants....ra ra riot was psyched on him.
marnie stern is awesome. i think i love her.
probably not going to attend any more shows at NYU.
