@ HBK: The music is one thing (and it's all subjective anyhow, right?) - but why go after the people in the band? Saying you don't like a song is one thing, but making personal attacks takes that much more effort. Does bad music infuriate you so?

If you're not passionate about the music you like, then what's the point? We're fans of real indie rock, so when shitty bands incorrectly labeled as indie rock come around and get all popular with trendy douchebags, yeah, the defamation of the name and genre of indie rock pisses us off.

The idea of what the genre of indie rock is isn't subjective. Just as what hip hop is and punk rock is isn't a question. There is history behind every genre of music. No one really argues with the fact that Blink 182 is not punk rock but stupid assholes today think it is because no one reads up on anything because I guess they just don't care enough to. But there is history there and Blink 182 is not what punk rock is. Just as what many "indie rock" bands today are is not what indie rock started out as. Call it "romanticizing the past" or whatever you want, but it's just being a fan of the real thing, honestly.

So, in conclusion, when you suck, we at indierocksucks.com call you out on it, because you are ruining what was a great thing.

Hope that helps your school project, Roland. I don't know if message board lechers count as a source in real world journalism.
