Hasn't Spike Jonze been talking about making this since the late '90s?

Arcade Fire + Karen O = costume-wearing, mentally ill-looking fucktards.
(She is doing the score, we didn't pull that one out of our collective ass. Personally, we prefer the fucking awesome Craig Wedren composing our film scores, but that's just us).

Incredibly gorgeous, methinks.
Also: alt take on Wake Up? Vocals seem pronouncedly not from the track we all know and love. Special, certainly.

this year is shaping up to be much better then last.

loved this book when i was a kid. pretty excited for the movie, had no idea the arcade fire were composing it.
Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2009 12:28 AM

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2009 9:01 AM
are arcade fire officially composing it or just on the soundtrack?
Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2009 10:18 AM
does anyone know where that alt version of wake up is?
Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2009 10:18 AM
It is - studio alt version

Karen O is doing the score, as stated above. Lame.

I'm sort of wondering if this is actually a "kids movie" and if it's not what sort of shitstorm will erupt.
It's def a "overgrown man-child" movie though.

This movie is looking good! I like the Arcade Fire song! If you like Sendak, there is a museum in Philadelphia called the Rosenbach that has the largest collection of Sendak's work in the world, on exhibit. www.rosenbach.org
