X have announced updated dates for their upcoming "Total Request Live!" tour, where the band will be allowing fans to pick the set list for each show. Voting is open now on the X's TRL tour website. As you can see above, "The Have Nots" is currently the most requested song for the band's first of three NYC shows at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets are still on sale for all three: May 29, May 30, May 31, and the three day pass.

All of the bands playing the first night of the Pitchfork Festival this year are doing something similar. By the way, Flaming Lips was recently added to that festival, but not on the Choose Your Own Adventure night.

X is also putting two VIP/Meet & Greet passes for each gig up for auction on Ebay to raise money for Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.

X is my favorite band of all time.

Great setlist! I can't wait for tonight!!!! What time did they hit the stage? Is the opening band worth seeing?

Posted by blackhat | May 30, 2009 11:43 AM

X is still in fine form, judging by last night's barn-burner of a set at BB. Billy Zoom still has the smile (and a wink for the ladies) to go along with his classic guitar and classic guitar playing, John Doe was sweating buckets and knocking his mic stand around, Exene was stately and impassive stage center as the maelstrom of music whirled about her and slam dancing fans heaved towards the stage. The band sounded as fresh and exciting as they did 30 years ago and the (many middle-aged) punks got one last chance to pogo. This band and their music is timeless.
X hit the stage at about 11pm.

Honestly I am glad you enjoyed the show but that was the most cliched idiotic review i have ever read. Seriously man, in the future just stick to "they killed it"

I liked your review, thanks.

"Morons of a feather flock together"

Really amazing show, honestly better than I ever could have expected.

Jason: I'm pretty sure Adult Books was done before the encore, and I think Los Angeles came earlier in the set, too.

Sex and Dying was the third song. I guess they didnt do The Unheard Music ... I guess it all became a blur after awhile! GREAT show!

Yeah, I pretty much remember what they did but the order is somewhat of a blur. Interesting that they only did ONE song from after their first 4 albums. I think you're right that Adult Books was before the encore. I was surprised they didn't do Unheard Music - as well as Hungry Wolf or True Love II or Back 2 the Base . . . but it was such a great show so who cares. It was also a GREAT crowd - the best one I've been part of in a LONG time, in every respect!!

Seriously it worth it trying to catch the opening band? I ask because I've never heard them...

Posted by blackhat | May 30, 2009 4:36 PM

I guess that would be the "unheard music".

Anyone know where I can find a setlist for the Philly World Cafe show from Thursday, 6/4/09?
