Yeah... this is crazy expensive. I've seen her plenty of times before... so I think i'll skip this one.

I got ORCH Row M. I think it'll be worth it.

i kept trying, finally got row cc. but i don't think i'd pay this much if the seats were farther back.

$75 for a decent seat?

I'm a huge fan and it hurts to say this but, fuck you PJ Harvey.

It's a shame to see her act like this and it's extremely alienating to her fans.

The concert industry is cannibalizing itself, like some kind of gold rush and they're going to bleed themselves dry.

I'm offended, but also deeply disappointed. PJ is supposed to be better than that.

It's not necessarily PJ setting the prices. She's probably not even aware of ticket prices for specific shows. However, the concert industry will suffocate itself if it continues to try to push these high priced tickets.

I don't buy this idea that she's not setting the prices or is totally unaware of the cost.

She has a responsibility to do right by her fans and doesn't get off that clean. That's where her management is involved.

The concert industry is doomed to destroy itself. It's seriously getting to a point where going to 2 or 3 shows is half a months rent or more.

That's insane...by any standard, especially when brought to NY which is already so overpriced.

The weird thing about it is, the future for artists like PJ Harvey is to build upon a community with her fans.

When Island drops her, which they inevitably will as her albums have substantially devalued commercially over time, despite her critical value and credibility being so high - where will she turn?

She'll turn to the fans after signing to Anti-Epitaph or whatever else.

She might be playing russian-roulette with her long term career for some really petty short term gain from bloated ticket prices.

Good luck with trying to turn on old fans, down the road after they've been substantially turned off.

Tix are $35 in the middle of the country for PJ. It is NYC that usually has these bloated ticket prices. Even 20 years ago it was the same. In 1989 Bad Brains was $8-10 in Boston and $17.50 at the Ritz in Manhattan.

The distance from $35 to $75 plus tax and $10 service charges is a big different from $10-$17.50.

Any defense for this bloated pricing falls flat.

Fuck em...

I might respect their music but I don't have to respect them as individuals or how they run their business.

Philly tickets are only $38.50. And the Troc is obviously WAY more intimate than the Beacon. Just book a Megabus or Bolt Bus ticket now & go to Philly!

Me, I'm just passing on this concert entirely b/c PJ Harvey & John Parish < PJ Harvey.

the more you idiots keep purchasing tickets at these prices, the higher the ticket prices will continue to go in the future. complaining about it (while still buying them) does absolutely nothing. this is basic logic 101...why don't you get that?

I tried like four times at random and it kept coming up with SORRY

so SORRY to you ticketmustard.
you suck.

I must say I agree with a lot of the things being said here. I am a huge PJ Harvey fan and being that this will be the third time I'll see her live, I am very excited; but it hurts to purchase a ticket that has a final price of $85.00. Honestly, that's pushing it.

^
it's more than "pushing it"...it's outright obscene.

I'm pretty sure the venues set the prices, not the artists. But also - the music industry is looking to recoup the money its losing elsewhere. They don't make much money from sales any more, because so many people download illegally, so the tour is seen as the way of making money. The venue offers the artists/record companies large amounts to do the show - they do it because the tour has to make a profit or break even. In the past, I think perhaps record sales would subsidize the tour. If you don't want high ticket prices - don't download music without paying for it.
