The mighty YOB have revealed details on their upcoming new album for Profound Lore! In a blog post entitled “Tracking And Mixing Is Done”, the band offered the following update:

The new album has been tracked and mixed. It will be mastered at the end of the month by Billy Barnett at Gung-Ho Studio in Eugene, Oregon. Sanford Parker did such a fantastic job and was so easy to work with. Truly professional and amazing at every turn. We are confident our friends worldwide are going to dig our new vibes channeled through Sanford’s engineering wizardry.

The album will be titled The Great Cessation with 5 songs clocking in @ 62 minutes… The tentative release date is late July… The titles: Burning The Altar, The Lie That Is Sin. Silence Of Heaven, Breathing From The Shallows, The Great Cessation

DOOM!

I second Mike Scheidt’s last statement.

As we mentioned before, 108 will be in NYC on April 25th, bringing along with them the mighty Pulling Teeth, who just dropped their new album Paranoid Delusions, Paradise Illusions. Tickets are still available, or you can win a FREE pair of tickets and a copy of Pulling Teeth‘s new CD! Details on how to win are below, before the tour dates.

Black Kites
Black Kites

Black Kites have dropped their new LP, Advancement To Ruins, and it is a manaical chunk of crust-laden hardcore that reminds me of Acme, Cursed, Disembodied, and a ton of other bands that I WISH the hardcore community would look up to. Comprised of ex-members of The Assistant, This Ship Will Sink, You and I, and current members of Zhenia Golov, check out the title track available for download above, and pick up the record at Ride The Fury Records. In the meantime, look for the NJ trio to play June 13th at ABC No Rio, as well as a few other shows around the tri-state. Full tour dates are below.

Pentagram will team up with Nachtmystium for a handful of dates on the west coast and in Blake’s native Chicago. Nachtmystium’s new EP Doomsday Derelicts drops on May 15th via Battle Kommand/Century Media. Pick it up before one of them gets killed in a drive-by. Pentagram played Webster Hall earlier this year.

Footage of Crom Live at Cake Shop, 1349, Anaal Nathrakh, Napalm Death live footage, and so much more as This Week In Metal continues…

1349 have offered up more details on their upcoming Tom Warrior (ex- Celtic Frost) produced album for Candlelight, Revelations Of The Black Flame. Check out the cover art, and the track listing below.
1349

Goatwhore (mems Acid Bath, Soilent Green) will hit the road with Abagail Williams, Abysmal Dawn, SWWAATS, and Daath for Conquer & Curse 2009, which includes Gramercy on July 23rd. Ticket info is forthcoming. Goatwhore’s new album, Carving Out The Eyes Of God, drops on June 23rd via Metal Blade.

Napalm Death – “Suffer The Children” Live in NYC

Lord Mantis (who we initally profiled here) will team up with Wetnurse for a short tour at the end of June, dates are below. No Lord Mantis NYC dates to speak of, but Wetnurse does have a few dates in NYC, including April 26th at Union Pool with The Austerity Program and Tournament and May 3rd at Public Assembly with A Life Once Lost, Rosetta, and Buried Inside.

Grayceon and Giant Squid will team up for a US tour including some east-coastin’ that will bring the band by Brooklyn in early August. Tentative dates are below. Giant Squid dropped their new album The Ichthyologist independently; pick it up from the band at their myspace. Grayceon’s new album, This Grand Show, dropped in November of last year. Check out “It Begins, And So It Ends”.

Anaal Nathrakh have announced that their new album In The Constellation Of The Black Widow will drop on June 29th! For y’all vinyl fiends, look for a limited-edition LP version to surface via Feto Records. Until then, look for “More Of Fire Than Blood” from Constellation to hit iTunes on June 6.

Satyricon – “Filthgrinder” LIVE in Copenhagen

Dying Fetus are currently working on their new album in Baltimore, the follow up to 2007’s War of Attrition. Look for the band to play some of those new tunes during the Summer Slaughter tour which hits Irving Plaza on July 19th and 20th. Some of the other bands on the Summer Slaughter train include Suffocation, Necrophagist, and Origin.

If you missed it, we interviewed Scott Kelly and caught the mighty Landmine Marathon and got spat at by Villains!

Crom LIVE at Cake ShopEVILLIVE:
A new feature in our metal posts, we’ll run down the best live shows on the way. The next couple weeks will be quiet, so prepare for the onslaught of MDF tours, Melvins, Mastodon, and many many others in the month of May!

APRIL 25th – Santos Party House: 108, Cold World, Blacklisted, Title Fight, Soul Control, I Rise
APRIL 26th – Union Pool: The Austerity Program, Wetnurse, Tournament
MAY 4th – Lit: Hull, Rumplestiltskin Grinder
MAY 6th – Gramercy Theater: Gojira, The Chariot, Car Bomb

PUNISHMENT DUE:
Slowww release week, no suggestions to speak of, so if you havent picked up any of last weeks awesome releases, this is your chance!

NEWS BLAST (BEATS)
– The finalized lineup is upon us, with the addition of Malignancy to the Auditory Assault Fest. Tickets are still available, if you can handle it.
