Same with Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Blue Note-- anyone who has the opportunity to catch their last set tonight at 10:30 should go! They were fantastic last night.

Zebulon used to be a great place. A venue were you could here non-hipster/scenester music. Now it succumbed to playing the same music all the other local venues play. So sad.

Zebulon, tonight: Garotas Suecas...60's-influenced Brazilian "soul" music. You definitely hear that in "all the other local venues" around NY.
And then tomorrow night you have someone performing Bach's Partita No.1 in B minor. Definitely something you'd hear at Cake Shop or the Charleston.
The following night? Todd Sickafoose performing experimental jazz music...much like what you hear every night at someplace like Trash Bar, right?
11:45...pull your head out of your ass.

There was some outstandingly amusing crowd dancing at Mates of State/Black Kids. The MHOW security guards (who are normally some of the most vigilant at stopping audience members from filming shows) were filming it all on their phones and howling with laughter.
