Wilco

"To celebrate the DVD release and to lend support to independent record stores, the band will make an in-store appearance at Disc Exchange in Knoxville, TN on Saturday, April 18 at 2 pm. Also as an exclusive bonus to anyone purchasing Ashes of American Flags before April 28, one complete concert drawn from a show featured in the film will be available for audio download. This exclusive concert download will only be available via an embedded link on the DVD from April 18 to April 27. This is in addition to the 20 full songs featured in the DVD and downloadable to everyone who purchases it.

Wilco have just completed work on their seventh studio album. The as-yet-untitled disc is scheduled for a late June release. Produced by Wilco and Jim Scott, it is the follow up to 2007's Sky Blue Sky."

That seems way to large for them...maybe I am wrong? Also the Dutchess Stadium is huge and in the middle of nowhere..saw Dylan/Nelson there...don't think they will sell that onee out as even Dylan didn't....

Can't wait for the new album!

"That seems way to large for them...maybe I am wrong?"

You are definitely wrong

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:03 AM

How many does it hold when all are in ga 15,000?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:04 AM

Trying to go to Vegas to see them. Make it a weekend. Anyone been to a show at Keyspan? How is it?

Posted by Cheap Bastard | April 16, 2009 9:15 AM

i was thinking this morning how much i missed this band when they were good.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:20 AM

Holy Crap Dutchess Stadium! I guess ill be going to my hometown for that show! Cant wait!

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:21 AM

Saw Stripes there in 2005? They cram tons of people in the ga on the field. Seats though seem miles away from the stage. Sound was ok from what I remember.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:21 AM

Where is Lewistown, NY

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:26 AM

yeah you def want GA floor seats...unless it's raining :)

GREAT place to see a show.

except for bjork/sigur ros when they didn't know how to set the place up and the stage was in the outfield. Now they put it at 2nd base, so even the seats in the stands aren't that bad

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:28 AM

Lewiston is next to Buffalo...

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:29 AM

Lewiston is up near Buffalo, close to the Canadian border.

As for being to big, I think Keyspan makes sense capacity wise. Its about 7500 seats and probably a few thousand GA tickets (so maybe 10/11000 max). They played McCarren Pool Park which holds about 5000 and they sold that out in minutes. I think in the NYC area, Keyspan is the next logical step. That or multiple nights at Radio City.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:41 AM

I think they sold 12000 tix when daft punk played there. still big... i think wilco can fill.

oh, and props to disc exchange for the in-store. that's huge!

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:41 AM

Which in store?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:44 AM

why no dc date?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:50 AM

"Where is Lewistown, NY"

youre sitting at a computer, google maps is just a click away

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 9:55 AM

Why no Manhattan dates?

Posted by Cheap Bastard | April 16, 2009 10:05 AM

"Why no Manhattan dates?"

BK is not that far away

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 10:15 AM

i don't see this being too large. they did two nights at RCMH for A Ghost Is Born plus all 3 NY area shows they did on last tour sold out immediately (they were smaller size places, but still)

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 10:25 AM

I hope they play Reservations and Radio Cure at Keyspan...that will be awesome!

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 10:32 AM

Wilco rocked it at MSG with Neil Young.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 10:34 AM

"BK is not that far away"

Im just lazy

Posted by Cheap Bastard | April 16, 2009 10:37 AM

Wilco has headlined MSG before. I think they can handle Keyspan Park.

Posted by wembley | April 16, 2009 10:49 AM

Dutchess Stadium is not "in the middle of nowhere." It's located directly off Interstate-84, for easy accessibility to drivers. And the Beacon train station is a quick cab ride away. For people going up to the show from NYC, a ride from Grand Central to Beacon takes about 80 minutes, and the views from the train are gorgeous.

So don't rule it out completely.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 10:58 AM

will they play p4k?
they have room in their sched

This is the truth. I grew up 10 minutes from Beacon and Dutchess Stadium is a great place to see a show.

Very excited for Keyspan as well.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:09 AM

someone told me that the new album sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:12 AM

They headlined MSG and sold what 10,000 tickets? Also Dutchess Stadium is the middle of nowhere if you don't have a car. I will be there though with a car thought but I can understand that statment as probably a good majority of this blogs readers are from NYC and immediate metro. Also The trains from Beacon stop running at 11pm...

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:12 AM

if this show was anywhere else closer to the city, or at least at keyspan on any day other than a monday, i'd be first in line. but having seen them several times in different venues, i must say i am going to skip this one.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:15 AM

Yeah a Monday is tough...Dutchess is a Friday though...

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:17 AM

Why is Monday so bad compared to any other day during the week?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:22 AM

Getting a few hours of sleep on a monday night can throw off a whole work week! I leave for work at 6am..I try to avoid Mon, Tue, Wed shows with a few exceptions...

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:28 AM

Dutchess is a Sat, actually.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:28 AM

"Why is Monday so bad compared to any other day during the week?"

Are you employed?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:29 AM

I stand corrected 11:28..

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:30 AM

I stand corrected that Dutchess is on a Saturday..

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:31 AM

Didnt P4k call them "Dad Rock"? There is a ton of room in their schedule...Outdoor in July = sauna and smell fest

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:38 AM

Any hotels within shouting distance (i.e. can stumble to and from show) in Wap Falls?

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:39 AM

The closest hotel to Dutchess Stadium is a 10 minute cab ride, I think. Hilton/Mariott type shit.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:45 AM

NICE

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:47 AM

Keyspan is a dope place to see a show in the summer. Nice set up. Not too big. On the water in Coney Island. Wilco will be great for that venue.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 11:58 AM

Shows on a Monday do suck. I agree.

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 12:01 PM

somebodys got a case of the mondays

Posted by Anonymous | April 16, 2009 12:16 PM

"somebodys got a case of the mondays"

Haha. Wilco, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come to NYC on a Saturday too. Thanks.

Yea, it's Wilco's small-venue, gigantic carbon footprint tour. It's a dream for pretentious front men and scalpers!
