CyclonesCyclones

Tickets are on presale (update: sold out) for the Wilco show at Keyspan Park in Coney Island (thx anon). Tickets go on regular sale Friday at noon.

Tickets for the Cyclones baseball games that happen in the same ballpark go on sale Sunday.

And speaking of Wilco and baseball, Jeff Tweedy threw the first pitch at at Milwaukee's Miller Park for the Brewers the other night.

"Tickets unavailable at this time."

man, these pups are going to scalp for a fortune. sold out without even being put up on BV.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:13 AM

Only up to 10% of tickets offered on presale...

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:16 AM

I was happy this morning when I checked BV and didn't see the presale info plastered on the site. That hasn't happened for a show I wanted to go to a while. For once, I was able to log in, get tickets on the field, and be done with it.

Posted by Otm Shank | April 22, 2009 10:23 AM

i can't wait to see them in NOLA this weekend.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:24 AM

not field. field totally gone.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:25 AM

Please keep on thinking these are going to scalp for a fortune. When so many dumbasses buy something to sell, it makes it easier for me to find cheap last minute tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:25 AM

10:04- totally sold out

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:26 AM

10:25..so true...I went to the Mccarren show spent $25 instead of $50 after service charge and still got a great spot near the stage. I am not worried!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:27 AM

Bought a pair at 9:55, they launched early

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:28 AM

to be honest I doubt this show will ever sell out. Maybe week of, depending what else is going on.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:32 AM

Yo, WILCO isnt that good guys...whats the obsession with seeing a band thats played out and old?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:33 AM

It really won't be a problem getting tix to this.

People will probably be giving away their extras the day of the show... especially if the weather is crappy.

I'm sure a lot of people will bail at the last minute... it's at coney island after all.

Posted by wembley | April 22, 2009 10:33 AM

Wilco's fanbae consists mostly of disgruntled 28-35 year olds who still think they area hip...Who wants to go to coney island to see a show? terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:35 AM

Probably half of BV readers live in Brooklyn so go support your lovely neighborhood Coney Island! After all, it's not just about Greenpoint, Williamsburg, and Park Slope that exists....

P.S. I can see Sonic Youth and Broken Social Scene booking summer outdoor show in NYC soon...

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:39 AM

I can't wait to see 'Waking the Baby Mammoth' on Nat Geo this Sunday. It's going to be cool.

Posted by Me | April 22, 2009 10:39 AM

seats won't sell out, but i guarantee you the field will extremely shortly, and that is what will sell.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:40 AM

you should go to coney island to see a show because its a great place to spend a summer day, at a nice ball park, to hear great music.

so last year when wilco play mccarren everyone goes crazy, but when they decide to play a venue in a neighborhood thats not totally populated by hipster trust fund babies, its not worth it? if you think the only worthwhile parts of brooklyn are those you can get to on the G train, i feel pretty bad for ya.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:50 AM

If the weather is right Coney Island is a fun place to see a show!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 10:51 AM

the G train went all the way to Coney Island this weekend, fyi. Pretty awesome huh? Maybe they should keep it that way?

"I can't wait to see 'Waking the Baby Mammoth' on Nat Geo this Sunday. It's going to be cool."

I wish I had cable. I miss watching Nat Geo and keep seeing the ads for the programmes in the magazine.

Keyspan is a great place to see a show. Go check it out if you haven't already. Seen some great shows there the past few years

White Stripes
Daft Punk
Phish

what's wrong with coney island? hahaha.
what are you all talking about "after all it's in coney island"

big deal..
you make it sound like they're playing Floral Park or some shit.

but damn 45 bucks? used to be 35..
i didn't even realize the presale went up but even if i did.. i'd have to pass on this one.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 11:21 AM

they split the tix between field and stands; at some of the other venues, a ticket will give you access to both.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 11:36 AM

Wait hipster trust fund babies live in Hipsterville such as Park Slope, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint???

So all you kids that live there....you kids don't work???

You're so lucky lucky lucky as Mr. Franz Ferdinand would say....

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 11:40 AM

It takes me to an hour and a half to get to coney island on the train. so yeah, on a monday night it's a pain in the ass. if this were on a saturday, I wouldn't give it a second thought. $45 is really expensive too!

Will definitely see them at Dutchess Stadium upstate though.

All that said, Keyspan park is a great place to see a show, weather permitting. I love coney island... it just takes a long time to get out there.

Posted by wembley | April 22, 2009 11:42 AM

I wish they were playing Tanglewood again...

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 11:56 AM

I hope they play Love Will Tear Us Apart!

Posted by smack | April 22, 2009 12:03 PM

The Dutchess Stadium show is going to be awesome....though that is DOWNSTATE

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 12:12 PM

Got 4 !!! And yes, it launched early, I got them immediately around 9:56 or so. I had purchased them prior to 10:00. I thought it all seemed too easy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 12:39 PM

Keyspan park is right off of Mermaid Avenue....also the name of the album they did with Woody Guthrie's lyrics, thats woody's old hood. I'll bet the band knows this, at least I hope the do.

I wasnt that psyched to go until i realized this, it makes it a little more exciting.

Posted by Steve | April 22, 2009 12:42 PM

Good point Steve. Wouldn't it be awesome if they decided to do a suprise "don't look back"-style full performance of Mermaid Ave? Then a 2nd set of new stuff. A man can dream.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2009 12:49 PM

They did do those "career retrospective" type sets in chicago last year, so nothings out of the question!

Posted by Steve | April 22, 2009 12:55 PM

"Wilco's fanbae consists mostly of disgruntled 28-35 year olds who still think they area hip...Who wants to go to coney island to see a show? terrible."

It consists of people who appreciate a band who has released a lot of good to great records and puts on a great live show. The rampant stupidity on this website continues unabated.

Posted by Joe | April 22, 2009 5:50 PM

Who wants to see a show in Floral Park??? It takes me like 25 minutes to get there on a Monday night....not worth it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2009 11:07 AM

Is Conor Oberst opening, as Pitchfork says?

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2009 3:15 PM

Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band suppports July 8 thru July 19, except July 13. so no

Posted by eejit | April 23, 2009 3:39 PM

Anyone know -- are the tix all general admission?

Posted by Jo | April 23, 2009 4:02 PM

no-stands and GA. thats why the GA sold out in seconds, and there will be plenty of seats. probably going to scalp for a lot unfortunately.

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2009 4:29 PM

LOL at the trust fund hipsters too scared to go to that grotty old Coney Island. What a joke.
