Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 2:16 AM

I wanna go!! I'm crazy about this band...

Posted by AAA | April 10, 2009 2:16 AM

I heard that band Freshkills is also on the bill. Makes sense since Nik Zinner just did a remix of one of their songs.

Posted by tribe | April 10, 2009 2:25 AM

Somebody leaked it in the comments on their SNL posting. There were flyers for it at Le Poisson Rouge tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 2:34 AM

flyers?? is this invite only?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 6:54 AM

not so secret, eh?

Posted by cranky | April 10, 2009 7:33 AM

shhhhh... it's a freakin' secret. don't tell anyone.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 7:42 AM

not worth showing up if ur not on the guest list, santos wont let you in...save yourselves the time...I repeat, nobody will be allowed in unless they are already on the santos or YYY guest list...

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 7:59 AM

Ahhh why would you post this BV?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 7:59 AM

^I agree with you, but the bottom line is, if you didn't know about it before this post, then you arnt going to get in anyway...it is not like they are selling tickets online or at the door, so it doesn't really matter...I guess its just a tease because a lot of people are going to show up and be pissed off.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 8:02 AM

I'm guessing there will be tickets for sale. no-one is gonna give away an entire venues worth of tickets for free in this economy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 8:50 AM

I've never been to Santos Party House....what's the capacity at this place? 800? Sounds like Studio B of Manhatthan

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:00 AM

Tickets just went on sale!

Oh wait, sold out :(

Damn scalpers!

meh :

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:01 AM

800 ? LMFAO...santos is tiny..and like I said, I can assure you that no tickets will be available..guest list only. (either santos guest list or YYY guest list)

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:13 AM

I just spoke to the owner of the club

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:19 AM

after this album flails too, their 15 minutes will be up right?

Posted by nsfw | April 10, 2009 9:20 AM

Anon 9:19...and what did he say???

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:24 AM

I feel like most people on this board lie or don't know what they're talking about half of the time...

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:26 AM

Like i already said twice, no tickets will be sold to this event...they basically scheduled it for friends and shit, so unless u already knew about it (ie: are on the santos or YYY guest list) you arnt going to be able to get into this show...I agree it is stupid and it pushes the true fans away, but what can you do? I guess see them at APW? meh...fuckmylife

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:33 AM

they're selling tickets on the door. just not any advance tickets. it's gonna be a shit show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:38 AM

What time is the show at?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:47 AM

8pm, I heard.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:48 AM

The yeah yeah yeah are playing a secret show at knitting factory with daft punk and yo momma.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:52 AM

Anon 9:38...stop getting peoples hopes up..do u enjoy telling people they can get in a show to only have them waiting outside and told that no tickets will be sold...i dont understand people like you

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:54 AM

"your a zero"

Posted by zincink | April 10, 2009 10:45 AM

ok i'm a zero
(you're)
oh FTW who cares

-waits for spelling nazis-

Posted by zincink | April 10, 2009 10:57 AM

I know someone who works at the club. I tried to get on "the list". they told me they're limiting the list drastically so that actual fans of the band have a chance to see them. not just people who know someone. guess I'll have to try my chances with everyone else.

Posted by anon 9.38am | April 10, 2009 12:04 PM

^^^ that was just a nice way of saying "no".

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 12:06 PM

I think people are so gullable sometimes...if they wanted only "invite" only, they wouldn't be putting up flyers at Le Poison....just show up on Sunday and hope that you get in!

Anyone thats seen the flyers, did it say anything about ticket price or door time?

Posted by Jonny Greenwood is the man | April 10, 2009 12:26 PM

YO GuyZ: stop talking about the show! before sum skwarez find out!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 12:59 PM

f'in santos?! i'm guessing it was one of the few venues available on short notice. god that place blows...

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 1:12 PM

there was a ticketweb page up for this concert but it was taken down.... does that mean it sold out or that they will release the rest of tickets on saturday morning ???????

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 1:21 PM

There was no ticketweb page

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 1:28 PM

Ticket will be sold at the door. Santos has a very small guest list. I speak the truth.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 1:29 PM

anyone , anyone?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 3:53 PM

the question is...What time does Daft Punk go on?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 3:56 PM

There will be a limited amount of tickets available at the door.

Posted by Paul Dreiden | April 10, 2009 4:05 PM

most of the club will be filled by the tickets sold at the door.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 5:20 PM

so, uh, official ticket info? (price? number available? distribution?)

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 5:45 PM

There are no advance tickets being sold for any show occuring on 4/12. They will be available at the door.

HAHAHAhAHAHAHHA FUNNIEST POST BY FARRRRRRRR

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 8:49 PM

You are all total fucking retards. Enjoy your fail.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 9:28 PM

A couple of years ago YYY did a special free show at Glasslands. They wrote it up on their website..."wristbands for the first 100 fans in line". I went early, waited a couple of hours, and there were about 40 people in line in front of me. I counted. Well, guess what, I didn't get a wristband. I suppose the club was skimming, or the record company people wanted a bunch, the guest lists got big or what ever. I was furious, felt like i had been slapped in the face by my favorite band. Stopped listening to them for a while. Got over it. But this "secret show" crap is bringing it all back!

OK its not quite the same...this one isn't free, its at a somewhat larger place and they aren't writing it up on their website (yet). That show turned out to be a video shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if this one is too. if you want to do a video shoot and/or a little private show for your friends, go for it, but YYY are just too popular for these little special secret show things, more fans end up frustrated than end up inside.

But hey if you really want to do something for your "true fans", here's a crazy idea: schedule some shows at an appropriately sized venue, and sell tickets in advance. That way your true fans don't have to

a. wade through all the rumors and blatant disinformation on sites like this

b. stress out on the day of the show wondering if you will get in at all

c. wait in line for hours or even days(!)

d. be pissed off when you don't get in!!!

New cd is ridiculously great, they're still the best band around, but hell no I'm not falling for this shit again. I'll just turn the TV up real loud on Saturday night (and Tues and Weds, Letterman and Fallon). Those who do get in, have a blast.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2009 10:06 PM

"b. stress out on the day of the show wondering if you will get in at all" It's entertainment, no need to "stress out"!"New cd is ridiculously great" Uh, it's ok at best. And I like them. 2 or 3 decent singles + a couple of ok tracks. The whole electro thing has been done by hoards of other bands. Novel idea: How about something new? I guess that's too much to ask these days. Even the newer bands I like have little or no originality. Even Radiohead seem to be just re-hashing for the last few years/cd's. And some of you still wonder why a lot of (even young) people flock to the older artists?

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2009 12:17 AM

10:06 and 12:17... get off my lawn.

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2009 12:25 AM

Who is actually going to line up to see this??? ANYONE? BUELLER?

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2009 12:50 AM

Their new album is like really bad disco. I thought it was the Ting Tings when I first heard it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2009 1:05 AM

I am in line right now, and it's crazy, Mike, it's crazy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2009 1:07 AM

Just drove by santos- no line. I don't know if that is good or bad. -ashok

Posted by ashok | April 12, 2009 1:12 PM

How much will tickets cost?

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 1:49 PM

There's no line because people (including myself) already got wristbands (which they ran out of) and left. No wristband, no entry.

THIS SHOW IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 2:00 PM

yeah yeah yeahs just cancelled, but santos says they got a double bill of dan deacon and daft punk to replace them!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 2:14 PM

Called santos- you can confirm yourself - no wristbands first come first serve - ashok

Posted by Ashok | April 12, 2009 2:38 PM

Just called up the Santos management office and they said that while there will surely be a lot of VIP on guestlist, there will be a substantial # of tickets available at the door. But suggested lining up early since it's first come first serve.

YYY are about to go on tour, so I'll just wait for that...and not deal with the lines at Santos.

Posted by KevinV | April 12, 2009 5:15 PM

"YYY are about to go on tour, so I'll just wait for that."

The only show the YYYs will play in NYC is APW. They are not allowed to play any other NYC show until 3 months after the festival.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 6:07 PM

Out here at santos right now. There are about 25 people In line and they are going to be selling about 400 tickets. Letting in people very soon.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 6:16 PM

So if I get there at like 8...what are my odds of getting in??

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 6:21 PM

Call the santos phone number -- 212 714 4646 -- and they say it is a private event, invite only. Then they repeat it is a private event, invite only.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 6:48 PM

doors at 8. no wristbands. no tickets. invite only. theyll be back.

Christ is an asshole for becoming a Zombie on the same day as the YYY's show at Santos. What a narcissistic prick!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 11:28 PM

the show was way kosher for passover.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 11:39 PM

sometimes i think bv posts about things just to see if he can set a new "what time does daft punk go on?" record

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2009 11:47 PM

So in the end. It was not a private event. There were plenty of people who paid $20 bucks to get in. There were also plenty of friends and family who probably got in for free.
Played about an hour. I think everyone who waited got in eventually.

Posted by The truth. | April 13, 2009 12:56 AM

So how many times did they play 'Maps'?

Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2009 1:30 AM

re: 12:56

haha! see, you're all dicks. no one here knows a thing...

Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2009 1:35 AM

awesome, awesome show. also, they opened the doors around 7 probably to milk the downstairs bar (which was fine, to get out of the cold). didn't open the upstairs until around 9. fresh kills came on at about 9:45, and yyy played from about 11 to 12:15.

no idea how many they let in, and the guest list did look pretty big. they played 17 songs (i believe). well worth the $20.

Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2009 1:46 AM

I'm on line right now!

That first secret show was just a cover up for the real secret show . . . which is scheduled for today at 10:13AM. Last night's show was not, I repeat not, the real secret show. Today's show is the real secret secret show.

So go tell everyone (I'm looking at you Brooklyn Vegan)! It's a secret.

this message was sent via carrier pigeon

Posted by A. Non E. Mouse | April 13, 2009 8:39 AM

The show was easier to get into than anyone thought. As I noted several times above, there were tickets at the door. Called the santos line that morning, not the prerecorded message, but the direct line and they confirmed it. I got there around 5:30 and waited in line in the cold. If I got there at 7:00, it would have been fine. It was pretty secret for a secret show.

Lots of celebs everywhere. Kyp Malone, who I thought was playing somewhere else, Carlos D, Andy Samberg, Drew Barrymore, Will Forte and I'm pretty sure I saw Chace Crawford.

Show was good, but the smoke machine was annoying
-Ashok

Posted by Ashok | April 13, 2009 9:11 AM

Even though Im a lapsed catholic, I don't know about the idea of going to shows like this on the holy days. Maybe one of the reasons it wasnt hard to get into is that many catholics/ christians wouldnt even think of going to a show like this few hours before Easter Sunday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2009 9:20 AM
