a current picture of Hope Sandoval surfaces

Every once in a while I go on a hunt for anything Hope Sandoval. Last time I found the track she did for Air France and news of her rumored appearance on the next Massive Attack album. This time I found a nice article on PopMatters, and the above picture! Apparently it was taken around Christmas with her relatives and given to fans on a message board by her nephew.

For a pretensious little snob, Hope had a great voice and was a seriously beautiful woman. With that..we shall wait...

What kinda loser pretends to be Hope? Get a life you degenerate

The giveaway is that Hope Sandoval would know how to spell "pretentious". Pretty sad when a loser signing in using her name doesn't know how to spell check a post.
But that nonsense aside, it's Sandoval's reticence that's made her so valuable. I respect the fact that she doesn't throw herself all over the mediascape, begging for attention. There's a depth and privacy there that seems very human and very real. And yes, she still looks great but even if she didn't, so what. It's not a crime to get older - at least not yet. It's her talent and brains that count and it's her songs that will live on.

When you are beautiful it seems you can act pretentious or any way you want and people will just put up with it, especially men. They call it mysterious...a purist, an artist... Get real
If she was ugly or fat no one would find it so endearing.
Shy isnt the same thing as acting like a primadonna. Making audiences wait for hours at a time, making them beg and plead and coax you out for an encore if their lucky and then barley saying thanks for coming out or buying my reocrds? That isnt shy.
Shy is for 18 year olds with their hoody sweatshirts on pulled up over their heads... she's 43..
Shy, private people who don't want to be looked at dont go through the trouble to doll up, twirl their hair while singing or even go on a stage at all.
It's all part of the gimmick and it works as long as she stays beautiful which is at least half of the allure. We are fools! and I love it.

To the person above me : How old are you? I wasn't aware regular, mature adults still classify shy people as snobs. Unless you have dealt with being extremely shy, i don't understand how you can judge her that way. so she is 43 years old? what does that have to do with being a shy person? That's who she is.
