I really hope FoTL adds a club show but they will probably have some great snarky banter for Siren.

Posted by noamjamski | May 19, 2009 2:36 PM

no complaints here.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:36 PM

great stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:37 PM

10 bucks says spank rock is a no show

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:41 PM

spank rock is boring anyway.

Posted by wembley | May 19, 2009 2:45 PM

solid lineup do far.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:45 PM

Cut Off Your Shaky Bear Hands

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:48 PM

"Cut Off Your Shaky Bear Hands"

That statement is funnier than you probably even realize

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:49 PM

What's this about Chicano pitchforks?

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:51 PM

Not a very impressive lineup...Not bitching just saying.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:51 PM

garbage

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:52 PM

you wish garbage was playing!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:54 PM

The lineup for Siren has been getting worse and worse with each passing year...

They need to add a big headliner to make this even remotely legit.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:54 PM

Built to Spill is enough for me. The rest is just (hopefully awesome) filler.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 2:57 PM

"They need to add a big headliner to make this even remotely legit."

LEGIT??!!?! It's FREE concert a-hole!!!

Btw, BTS is prob better than every band you listen to!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:00 PM

Broken Social Scene > the entire 2009 lineup

Weak.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:04 PM

blech, future of the left and spank rock are awful. other two are ok.

agreed, this needs one more big headliner, and i'm assuming the 4 more bands they announce in a few weeks won't be in, since they never announce a big headliner the second announcement. oh well, built to spill for free.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:09 PM

"garbage"

Anyone that actually listens to music would never call this lineup "garbage".

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:09 PM

"Broken Social Scene > the entire 2009 lineup"

hippie

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:09 PM

I would actually pay to see this lineup, so the fact that it's free, and at the beach, and in NY, makes it even better!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:12 PM

The sound at this show is going to be phenomenal!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:14 PM

Come out and see me do my dance.

Posted by Val Loper | May 19, 2009 3:16 PM

"Broken Social Scene > the entire 2009 lineup"

lmao...

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:16 PM

such a retread comment board every year on this topic

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:24 PM

Sounds sucks anyways. Who cares who plays. If you could hear they'd all blow anyway.

Bring back rock hipster fag!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:27 PM

agreed, 3:24. you can basically repost every single BV comment thread into each new post, replace the band & venue names...and voila...done.

July 13 - Future of the Left are playing Maxwell's! Tickets are on sale now

Posted by the qweeb! | May 19, 2009 3:29 PM

bear hands is the best band on this lineup. spank rock will make people dance and big bootie bitches shake their rumps

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:30 PM

Someone needs to get back to work:

"Come out and see me do my dance."

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:31 PM

CUT OFF YOUR SHAKY BEAR HANDS AND SAY YEAH YEAH YEAHS?

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 3:53 PM

boring lineup

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 4:56 PM

dd/mm/yyyy is playing also

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 5:01 PM

TBD will be added as the second headliner.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 5:09 PM

did TBD bump TBA off the schedule? those bastards!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 5:13 PM

listen, kids, it's about the beach, the boardwalk & the hang.. the music is just gravy.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 6:16 PM

Monotonix is NOT from Israeli.

They are from New Jersey.
They used to be called NUT BUSTER and were pretty much a Led Zeppelin cover band . . . though they did do a couple of Kingdom Come covers, anyway . . . do not believe the "We're from Israeli!" lie. They played the Shore all the time.

It's just a marketing tool.

Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
Well, you have been.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 6:42 PM

the bands are fine (it's a free show people) but the sound is always reaaaally bad every year. i mean every song ends up sounding the same out of whatever system they have. It's still a fun time but I don't go for the music. Through that sound system no band will ever sound good.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 7:08 PM

If I don't see tba I'm getting my money back....

Posted by jolz | May 19, 2009 7:17 PM

I've enjoyed Siren every year, and this might be the best lineup (on paper) I've seen so far. Japandroids, Bear Hands, Micachu, Frightened Rabbit and Built to Spill alone are all cool as shit. Stoked for this show.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 7:17 PM

doug's beard > the entire 2009 line up

Posted by jolz | May 19, 2009 7:27 PM

Spock's Beard >>>> Doug's Beard

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2009 8:25 PM

terrible lineup.
fuck off with your 'doug's beard' bullshit
who the fuck is that band?
bullshit fest turned to shit in 02' and has been since then.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 10:37 AM

Frightened Rabbit at Maxwells 7/17/09

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 10:41 AM

yes, it's all shit.

let's stay home and beat off instead.

on a saturday in July.

no beer. no rides. no dogs and fries. no music. no beach. no chicks. no skateboards. no tacos. no joints. no boardwalk. no sun. no salt air. no sand. no swimsuits. nothing.

it sucks.

let's stay home and beat off instead.

on a saturday in July.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 9:02 PM

for the amount of money they'e spending they really could have done better than this lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 9:31 PM

for the amount of money they're charging they really could have done a lot worse.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 9:41 PM

Built to Spill/2 > the rest. They better close this thing out.

Posted by paul | May 28, 2009 10:02 AM

BUILT TO SPILL! F*CK YES! Thank you village voice.
All you hipster idiots need to STFU with your bitching and complaining. ITS A FREE SHOW. We should line you all up on the tracks to the cyclone and let the roller coaster put you out of your misery.
