Dirty Projectors @ Dark Was the Night (Radio City) (more by Natasha Ryan)

"Brooklyn, NY based Dirty Projectors are set to release Bitte Orca, their 5th full-length album and first for Domino Records on June 9, 2009. The album was recorded in Portland, OR and Brooklyn, NY in 2008 and will be available on CD, LP & digital. David Longstreth formed Dirty Projectors in 2002 and the group now consists of Angel Deradoorian [who played her own record release show at Cake Shop last night], Amber Coffman, Brian Mcomber and David as principal members. Lead single 'Stillness Is The Move' will precede the album on May 5th in North America and will be available on 12" and digital, with b-sides and a remix by Lucky Dragons [who are playing the Stone this weekend]. Dirty Projectors have also introduced an expanded 6 member live lineup with the addition of bassist Nat Baldwin and vocalist Haley Dekle for live dates this year including a tour with TV On The Radio in May [and the Dark Was the Night show at Radio City]....."Dirty Projectors have three NYC shows coming up. This Friday, May 9th, they play Housing Works Bookstore with Bjork (Bjork and David Byrne in less than one week). On June 5th they play Central Park Summerstage with TV on the Radio, and on June 19th they're playing the new concert venue of the summer, Williamsburg Waterfront! But it's a Friday, so does that mean the show will cost money? All dates (thanks Ryan), including a bunch of new headlining dates on the east and west coasts, below...

"DirtyCrystalWolfDeer is the new band to keep an eye out for. They're about to explode!"
YAWWWWWWN.
Did you ever notice that hipsters have ironic moustaches? What are they hiding under there, their trust fund account numbers?!? No, really, not showering was enough to keep me away from you!
What's the deal with these band names? It's a wolf, it's a bear, it's a wolf, it's a bear. MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY, AMIRITE?? Frankly, I just don't want them near my children!!
Have you seen these jeans the kids are wearing?? They're so tight that they have to go on a coke binge just to lose enough weight to take them off!!
*RIMSHOT*

Dirty on Purpose / Dirty Projectors, I admit that I get them confused. Which is the one with the terrible male singer? I hope that band broke up.
