Ra Ra Riot

As you may have heard by now, Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot's Wes Miles have a group called Discovery who have an album coming out on XL Recordings on July 7th. Guests on that album include Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and Dirty Projectors' Angel Deradoorian. Two songs are at MySpace. The cover art and tracklist are below along with more pictures of Ra Ra Riot taken at this year's Sasquatch Festival....

What are the chances "I wanna be your boyfriend" is a cover of the Ramones song?

It can't be a coincidence that almost half of Chris' photos are of Alexandra Lawn (cello)...

I think all the pictures should be of the Alexandra.

Discovery is a Brooklyn band that's been around since 2004, been performing all over NYC since then, have international press (Italian Vogue, Z, etc.) and a record coming out next month.

I wonder why Vampire Weekend's offshoot is unlawfully using our name? I contacted their management but didn't hear back. They wouldn't be purposefully ignoring me, would they?

Anyone know of any Discovery shows coming up in the NYC area?

actually except for a couple of songs (namely the cover of I want you back) Discovery is pretty solid.

wow. they are totally ripping off that good band called Discovery (www.myspace.com/thisisdiscovery). that is some asshole move. i guess their other bands sucked really bad so they joined forces to confuse people and make them forget that their last bands sucked, but it didn't work because this music is really bad.
