Do they need a deposit?

150 sq feet? that is basically the size of a bed.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:16 PM

how much is todd paying to advertise on here?

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:17 PM

150-200 square feet is the average studio size in Manhattan. Much larger than a bed. Bed, night table and one chair at least.
Todd is getting paid to advertise here, not the other way around.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:19 PM

private common area? what does that even mean?

Posted by yoga | May 7, 2009 4:25 PM

you can check out any time you like but you can never leave

Posted by Donn H | May 7, 2009 4:30 PM

I think the deal breaker is having to use the Market Hotel washroom facilities.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:37 PM

i'd rather live at silent barn

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:40 PM

i'd rather live in a car.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:41 PM

i'd rather live at market hotel for dogs

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:41 PM

150-200 square feet is most certainly NOT the AVERAGE size of a Manhattan studio apartment!!! "Small" studios are like, 300-400 square feet. 150 square feet is a fucking SHOEBOX!

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:44 PM

id rather eat green eggs and ham

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:44 PM

You can get a 4 bedroom house in the midwest for that price. Oh Lordy, think I may be moving back soon.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:44 PM

I'd rather dance with you

Posted by kings of convenience | May 7, 2009 4:46 PM

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:49 PM

i'd rather live at Otto's Shrunken Head!!!

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:50 PM

thats a pretty good deal in this city, actually...

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:52 PM

You're not supposed to live there. It's artist/office space.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:52 PM

I'd rather work where I live

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:55 PM

I think $394 per month sounds like a pretty good deal. 150sq/ft is TINY, but it's LESS THAN $400 for a private space.
To me, that sounds nice.

I like the idea of affordable space in general.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:56 PM

my bathroom is 10 x 12, yeah its pretty small, would prob feel claustraphobic, than again I think a "real" studio apt will set you back $1,200 minimum, if you could even find one...

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 4:56 PM

Do the people who think that 150 sq ft is small actually live in New York? My room is smaller than that and suits me fine, and I pay pretty much twice the Market Hotel rate, as do most people who don't live out in Shitsville.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 5:05 PM

4:56 - Your bathroom is 10 x 12 and it feels small?!?

Posted by cr | May 7, 2009 5:07 PM

yes 150 sq ft is absurdly small even for nyc. first off, i doubt that is the size of your apartment. maybe your ROOM, but not the apartment. 300 sq ft is a considered a small studio by nyc real estate term, Shitsville or not-Shitsville.

"you can check out any time you like but you can never leave"

HAHAHAH

I think the obvious draw is being able to curate shows. i would live in a shoebox to curate market hotel shows, i don't care! also do the so so glos still there? they are so adorable!

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 5:40 PM

I'd rather live in a sweater. OH WAIT. I AM.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 6:26 PM

i'd rather sleep in the sewers

i'd rather sleep with the fishes.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 9:18 PM

I'd rather sleep with your mom.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 9:51 PM

i'd rather sleep with your uncle.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 10:24 PM

i'd like to sleep in a great chain of people at least 200 people long in which everyone is touching another persons genitals but not stimulating them manually

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 10:33 PM

I'd rather not sleep with Johnny Creepy above.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 11:35 PM

Todd P events are only cool if your a 16 year old disenchanted raver. Goodnight.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2009 11:42 PM

I lived in a 15x7 ft "apartment" on the upper west side for double that. You all suck and should move back into your parents houses if you need so much fucking space.

Posted by JF | May 8, 2009 12:19 AM

11:42 is dead inside. obviously.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 1:24 AM

dont you need to be in the so so glos to live there?

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 1:43 AM

oh, Brooklyn Vegan commenters.

you are such poorly informed assholes.

so much more important to you that you make a some lame meanspirited joke than whether you get your facts right or contribute any kind of intelligent point.

Not to mention, whether you say anything that supports good things or hates on what should be celebrated.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 2:31 AM

so many sucky people on this thread.

these rooms sound like a good deal.

I think these commenters must not live in New York, don't understand how much shit costs around here.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 2:49 AM

@ 2:31 - Dude...like, really? I mean, no offense, but if you're looking for intelligent discourse, then what the fuck are you doing on a internet message board populated by hipsters? I mean, really now.

Posted by get a grip | May 8, 2009 3:05 AM

if it was located in some expensive part of manhattan or something it might be a good dea if you're never home, and barely have any belongings, and don't mind a communal kitchen and bathroom. (im not being sarcastic here or trying to make a joke).

but 400 dollars for 150 sq feet in brooklyn doesn't sound like a good deal to me. It doesnt sound even close to a good deal. 400 dollars is cheap for rent but what exactly are you getting here?

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 3:23 AM

I'd rather sleep inside of all of you.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 9:41 AM

3:23. Why don;t you measure you're own bedroom. it is probably smaller that 150 sq ft.

You obviously don't know what different square footages look like. 150 just sounds small to you and you're running with that.

In the real world, 150 sq ft is an average New York bedroom size. In Manhattan a similar sized bedroom roommate situation would be $1200+ per room.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 10:22 AM

sounds pretty sweet to me

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 12:34 PM

yeah I don't think most of he posters above live in NYC because 394 is actually really cheap

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2009 12:48 PM

New hot topic:
Stop your prattling. If you think you can do better than anything on this then just do it already. OMFG, if you want to be Brandon Cox just contract malaria and get a press agent, a fuzz box, and funnel your coke addiction into something productive: like go choke on a dick.
