Aw, I was hoping the prize was a G10. TOTALLY not worth it. The contest rules make you sign away the rights to not just your entry image, but also your "name, ... likeness, voice, biographical information, statements and address (city and state) for advertising or publicity purposes, worldwide, and in all forms of media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, without further compensation."

So...let me get this straight...
...if you "win" this contest then you sign your life over to Canon...they give you a shitty low-end camera that'll break within a month...AND you have to go see Girl Talk! Dude...that's like shit upon shit upon shit! I'm surprised they didn't include a complimentary water-boarding in with the rest of the deal.

Have they ever been to a GIrl Talk show? That's like 90% of the whole crowd!

Bitter comments here, fellows!

whether you like Girl Talk or not doesn't change the fact that the dude sold out three nights in a row at Terminal 5 and this show is at Hiro Ballroom.

"grand prize winners only get a spot on stage with Gregg for 1 song"
lmfao

1:47 - and in two elections in a row, the American people voted George W. Bush to be president.
The only thing that popularity in and of itself proves is how stupid & gullible the majority of people are.
I am no more shocked by Greg's ability to sell out Terminal 5 than I am at Britney Spears selling out Madison Square Garden. Both actions are a damning indictment of the complacent mediocrity of our society with regards to artistic expression.

This contest should be called give the best picture you ever took to Canon.
WTF by entering you give them the rights to your best photo.
"All entry information and materials become the p"roperty of The Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned."

LOL at the George W Bush/stupidity comment. Keep drinking that Obama Kool-aid, we'll just keep printing more money to solve all our problems and with a guy as "hip" as him in office everything will be ok. Democrats, LOL.
Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 8:42 AM
Sheesh guys. You give up rights to one photo, and then people will actually see it. And so far half of the people who enter will win. Doesn't sound too bad to me...
Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2009 10:10 AM
this cant get anymore hipster

LOL 8:42...what I *actually* said (if you bothered to read it, which you didn't, though that didn't stop you from commenting on it) was "The only thing that popularity in and of itself proves is how stupid & gullible the majority of people are." Which would also apply to someone like Obama...but because I said it about Dubya you automatically assumed I was a Democrat. But that's okay....you probably get your "news" from FOX, so I can't blame you for your inability to read, follow logic or deal in reality. LOL.

"Concert photo." Does it actually have to be from a club/venue show? What if it's from a basement show? Do you think that would work?
Posted by Sarah | May 20, 2009 1:22 PM
Hey brooklynomnivore, your penis is really, really small. Really small. So you can talk as big as you want behind a keyboard, just remember the fact that at the end of the day, people still call you "pintsized peter" for a reason. So worry less about where I decide to get my news from, my hate for silly liberals like you is a far more important topic.
