"12:44, your mom single?"
No! She's married to my dad. He's into the Goo Goo Dolls and he and my mom are always arguing. My mom is like, "Me? Listen to the Goo Goo Dolls? Impossible!...Impossible Germany, that is!"

the first song sounds like The Mattoid

I love the Mattoid!
A definite improvement over Sky Blue Sky, but I could stand more shredding.

Best living band at their peak!

3:21- After "Hate It Here," nothing this man writes will surprise me. He did a nude backflip over the shark with that one. Sounded like domesticated Randy Newman.

yep, they're super boron.

Yes! I feel exactly the same way about Guided by Voices!

The last 2 tracks are okay...but merely okay. The rest of the album though...what a waste.

I've only listened to it once and I'm going to give it another go, but I was incredibly disappointed!
Didn't anybody else think it was generic and radio-friendly? What happened to the guitars! Their instrumentation sounded like Snow Patrol, George Harrison and Paul McCartney!
I dunno, maybe on the 2nd or 3rd spin, I'll like it more. But my initial reaction is disappointed.

i lost interest after a ghost is born...sky blue sky made me hate this band...and from 96-2000 they were my favorite band.
this album is a total C+...and yes, tweedy definitely hasnt been the same since jay bennett left.

"Best living band at their peak!"
Wilco peaked years ago in terms of music (maybe not popularity). You just weren't paying attention then.

Wilco is the worst band. Oasis is the best band in the world!!!
Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2009 3:12 PM
UGH WHY IS EVERYONE SO QUICK TO JUDGE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE THEY DID???? OPEN YOUR MIND AND LISTEN AGAIN, this album has bits and pieces of from everything they've ever done and it gets better with every repeat listen, JUST LIKE THEIR OTHER ALBUMS!!! come on, people, this is not Blink 182 or Kelly freakin' Clarkson here, this is a band that years from now will still be making good real music, ENOUGH ALREADY!!
Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2009 12:27 PM
THAT'S RIGHT!!! HOW DARE ANYONE HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION! THIS BAND IS FRICKIN' AWESOME!!! THEY ARE OUR GENERATION'S AEROSMITH!!! 40 YEARS FROM NOW PEOPLE WILL STILL BE LISTENING TO THIS STUFF BECAUSE ITS SO FRICKIN AWESOME!!! IF YOU DON'T AGREE THEN YOU SHOULD GO LISTEN TO SOME CREED OR SNOOP DOGG OR SOMETHIN'!
what?
