"Satanicide all the way! Last time I saw that band was at fucking BROWNIES"

best was seeing them there! Though the lineup has changed many times since then, not that you can really tell under their masks/wigs

Latest opening band rumor I've seen for TGUK (according to the interweb) is Brand New...but all speculation. No reason to really suspect that.

Brand New opened for The Get Up Kids. The crowd was a little younger than I was expecting, but I must say, I have not seen a crowd that energized and excited in NYC in a long time. It was quite refreshing, and The Get Up Kids put on an absolutely fantastic show that spanned their entire catalog. Kudos to them for ending with "Walking On a Wire".

The Get up Kids were fantastic last night. The crowd was a bit younger then I expected and had loads of energy. I can't believed they played Up on the Roof, that pretty much made my night.

Does anyone remember the other fake name Brand New mentioned that ended up Ripken Jr Sr?

Posted by mp77 | May 2, 2009 9:34 AM

taking back sundays old stuff is totally good. new stuff mostly sucks but they played a pretty great set with a lot of classics

Posted by moop | May 2, 2009 10:33 AM

a place to bury strangers were soooooooooo fantastic

"Does anyone remember the other fake name Brand New mentioned that ended up Ripken Jr Sr?"

Clearly you are not a baseball fan. That would be "Cal Ripken Jr Sr"

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2009 10:50 AM

I thought the name they said was something other then Cal which made it funnier.

Posted by mp77 | May 2, 2009 11:12 AM

Lando Cal Ripken Junior Senior
