Beach House

Beach House are opening for Grizzly Bear on August 30th at the Williamsburg Waterfront which means we'll probably get some Victoria Legrand action. Grizzly Bear are currently on tour and gave the Toronto crowd some hometown Feist action. Over Memorial Day weekend, both Beach House and Grizzly Bear played the Sasquatch Festival. All BH tour dates, and more pics of them at Sasquatch, below...

"remember when these two used to play the bowery ballroom? people weren't shitting their pants then, the shows barely sold out."

"used to play" makes it sound like its the Living Room or some other venue where bands play every other week. Grizzly Bear toured with Beach House, they played a night or two at Bowery Ballroom, and it/they DID sell out. Not really sure what your point is except to prove that what-you-think is your memory goes back to 2007.

i didn't intend it to sound that way. they sold out after a long time. and also, my point was to prove that it wasn't that long ago.

no need to be a dick!!!!!!!!

people "freak out about them" because people really enjoy their music...it's that simple. Move on if you don't like it.

"freak out about them"

^^what are you even quoting?

how can you really "freak out" about grizzly bear? it would be like freaking out over a painting. it's pretty, but you kinda just stand there and watch it. and you know what, it's not even the greatest painting! there are mona lisa's out there that are undiscovered (and the mona lisa itself and other classics), but there are times when you can't even see this one particular grizzly bear painting because the room is so full.

Brooklyn Vegan = a place for the nerdiest, brainiest, most repressed music-lovers to be the meathead neanderthals they really wish they were?

Every time I read a truly nasty comment, I try to visualize the 24-year-old man who wrote it. He's eating his cheerios in front of his 'puter, milk dribbling down his chin. He doesn't have the deltoid strength necessary to lift his arms above his head. And boy, is he dreading that phone call to Mom and Dad for the extra $450 he needs to cover the rent on his disgusting Williamsburg apartment.

Is that where all the faux-rageful, faux-venomous, and tits-n-ass-luvin' comments come from? Because I refuse to believe that anybody gives a shit about who likes Grizzly Bear, or Beach House, or Animal Collective, or whatever.

OTHER issues are being worked out here, and somebody yet ANOTHER parent-supported loafer will write a thesis about it.

BV comments are a place for all those above mentioned kids to air our their sexist, homophobic and racist tendencies in a safe anonymous format.

Add Papercuts as the other opener and you have the Bowery show that I saw in May 2007.
