Mayhem at Irving Plaza (more by Paul Birman)
With the end clearly in sight, the Mayhem tour has withered (pun!) away into a solo tour with the defection of Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, and Withered from the ranks. Marduk has been AWOL since the start. Our colleague Justina Villanova reports for Metal Injection:
It was a brutal (not in a good way) end to the tour. For the most part, no one got to say goodbye to anyone. It was abrupt and unexpected (that's what she said). Most of all, it painted the final picture of the kind of people Mayhem are.Yikes. Her side of the story continues here. All affected tour dates are below...

Not the first time I’ve heard about issues with Mayhem. My friend toured with them in Japan and he said ½ the band was really cool and ½ were egomaniacal douche bags.
