did they use any of the lights form town hall show?

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 1:32 PM

nope - the lights were tame.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 1:34 PM

1:32 from how dark the photos look, i would say not. probably better that way. people thought it was distracting

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 1:34 PM

a lot of the same light show actually, Just no jars. Town hall was better imo. The colors up on them have a great look.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 1:53 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:10 PM

"whoa that girl is oooogly next to those three tall guys. are they some one important or something or was their tallness compared to the other crowd worth documenting?

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 1:25 PM"

The crowd pictures are there for 2 reasons. One because these goofy photogs think they are telling you a story about the event. You get your shots of the outside of the venue, the merch, the band and the crowd. So important to have these shots.
The other reason is so the next day people have more things to make fun of in the comment sections of this and other blogs.

So in the spirit of that, yeah 1:25 that chick is super fugly. I think i saw her at the Dan Deacon Bway Backyard show. She was hanging out with that fat guy with the beard who is always at those shows. Some Todd P lemming. Oh and btw, that Backyard show had PHENOMENAL SOUND in case you were wondering. Much better than this show at Music Hall. I mean no subway car running through while Grizzly Bear was playing? Whatever.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:17 PM

hey coward, I mean 2:17.

you might possibly be the biggest asshole of the day, and here on BV comments that's quite a superlative to achieve. That you did it so humorlessly, and with so little cleverness or panache - WOW!

we all know you'd never say anything approaching this kind of stuff to someone who was actually in the same room with you.

I'd love to see you try though, and then see how quickly you're reduced to tears by the fact that you're a far easier target than who you're putting down here. There's no doubt to in anyone's mind that you are someone along the lines of a fat, lonely shut in, probably typing with sweaty stubby fingers on a computer with a Star Trek screen saver, riding out the hours in your low level cubicle job.

It's a more than a little sad that your outlet is BV comments. You are a loser, your "in jokes" are funny to you and you alone. No one laughs with you, or even at you.

You're just an irritant and a fool.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:30 PM

i like the merch pix. bring 'em.

Posted by merch pix are good | June 2, 2009 2:31 PM

alright 1:25 and 2:30. post some pics of yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:34 PM

seriously, post pictures of yourself if you're so down with criticism by strangers.

fucking do it!

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:40 PM

Oh 2:30 is that so,huh? Are you the fat bearded lemming, Todd P or the fugly girl? I would bet one of the three for sure.

"There's no doubt to in anyone's mind"

"It's a more than a little sad"

Clearly from these mistakes you were livid over the comments and angrily hammering away at the keyboard.
Hilarious. Along with that and the incredibly lame pseudo psychological description you tried to make, i would say spend less time out at shows and more time trying to educate yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:44 PM

BV should require ID cards as mandatory for posting.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:45 PM

put up the fucking photos you fucking loser!

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:47 PM

2:44. put the fuck up or shut the fuck up

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:48 PM

Oh and also to 2:30 concerning these comments:

"we all know"

"You are a loser, your "in jokes" are funny to you and you alone. No one laughs with you, or even at you."

You should also do something about that megalomania complex you have. Or are you affiliated with some large group of people on here that you have been annointed spokesman of?

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:49 PM

2:44 you ain't funny. you write snarky remarks like your mom sucks dick. all bite, no technique.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:50 PM

If Grizzly Bear continues to put out albums every other year with 2 great songs accompanied by a load of garbage.... they'll have one hell of a best of album in 2029.

((((((meh))))))

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:51 PM

Yeah 2:50 and with that comment you certainly have shown yourself to be the poster child for intelligence and wit

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:54 PM

2:44 / 2:49 / 2:17. fair's fair. just post some pictures of yourself.

you wanna discuss the appearance of people you don't know, then put yourself up on the block. otherwise, shut up.

only fat nerdy dudes call women who they don't know ugly. anyone who's ever touched a woman would know how to handle himself with a bit more class.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:57 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:58 PM

"only fat nerdy dudes call women who they don't know ugly"

that's just something that people tell their ugly children

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 2:59 PM

Since we're talking about beauty and all, I'd just like to point out that Chris Bear (drummer) has a really great face.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:00 PM

Grizzly Douche.

Yawn.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:02 PM

I think what we have here is a case of someone's boyfriend being angry that people are calling his girl ugly.
Sorry dude, not everyone can date hot chicks. At least you are getting laid right?(hopefully)

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:02 PM

these guys should just post the pictures of themselves

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:06 PM

"whoa that girl is oooogly next to those three tall guys. are they some one important or something or was their tallness compared to the other crowd worth documenting?"

I'm pretty sure the dude with the creepy flesh colored beard is Spencer Pratt

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:06 PM

stop bullshitting and post photos, you fucking cowards

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:08 PM

Oh angry dude just stop. You don't have to post pictures of yourself to call another person ugly. It's subjective obviously although with this chick its pretty much a fact. But cmon loser, when you make a comment on here about the bands you think suck, does anyone say "well let's hear the music you make" Calm down and go fuck that beast of a gf.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:12 PM

I thought this was a food blog.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:14 PM

the obvious real explanation is that the original "oogly" poster is someone the girl dumped.

you can barely even see her in the picture. you'd have to be looking, hard, to even notice she's there.

that's extra pathetic, getting back at your ex that way. You are human waste, through and through. I hope her new bf beats the living snot out of you, you cowardly nerd.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 3:15 PM

i had no idea dave matthews band was still recording and releasing music. holy shit. what are you going to tell me next, hootie and the blowfish have a LP release slated for june?

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:09 PM

hahaha
whoa kind of funny
i was the oogly commenter.i just noticed her cuz the 3 guys were (moderately) cute so then noticed how ugly the girl was and thought that must've been a downer. didn't think ppl would pay attention

and duh ofcourse i wouldn't post my picture. that's just stupid. but i imagine if a picture of me was ever posted on bv no one would be like "damn girl you ugly" or maybe they would doesn't really matter cuz i don't know them and ppl that i think are cute think i am and i'm sure the same for her
she may have just had a cold or a bad day

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:44 PM

post some photos of the girl in the fedora! she was hot!

ha.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:47 PM

i seem to be alone on this one, but, yes, i would totally hit those HWGM chicks...niiiiiiiiiiice

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:51 PM

Those two guys should get out of the habit of cocking their heads back, or the skin on their jaws will stretch and they'll have double chins by the time they're 40.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:52 PM

4:44, how long did you work on that cover story?

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 4:55 PM

Mr. BrooklynVegan,
It would do you well to be more discerning about the comments you allow. The content is good, sometimes great, but the comments just cheapen the whole thing.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 5:28 PM

"4:44, how long did you work on that cover story?"

She had, like, a really big Social Studies exam after lunch, so she couldn't reply until, like, sooo later in the day.

This place is sad. So much negativity towards everyone and everything.

As far as the show. It was a rocking one. Town Hall was magical though. Not comparing the two, but I prefer town hall.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 7:02 PM

Ditto on comments. A whole thread basically about some poor girl in the audience. I thought this site was about music (good or bad).

@8:22pm yes, looks like the photo is gone.

@9:18pm i'd like to know too.. some people on here aren't necessarily dumb but they sure are a bunch of jerks.

Loved the MHOW show by the way. "Fix it" was the highlight for me....

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 10:05 PM

here we go magic was the better of the two bands in philly tonight

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 11:05 PM

"whoa that girl is oooogly next to those three tall guys. are they some one important or something or was their tallness compared to the other crowd worth documenting"

Was the picture deleted? I don't see what everyone is talking about.

Normally there way too many pictures on BV. You really need only 5 pictures at most of each band. Concerts are about the music and the experience, not about the images.

Posted by Anonymous | June 2, 2009 11:49 PM

haterz of the haterz to the left. BV is ALL about anonymous-on-anonymous verbal hate crime. DUH.

idiots.

after reading this whole thread, i am disappointed the oogly photo was taken down :(

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 12:49 AM

So I experienced the "magic" tonight in Philly for the first time, and wow, this isn't as bad an blogger overrate job as Animal Collective but it's close. I thought Veckatimest was decent but not too memorable and live it's much much worse. Other than Two Weeks and While You Wait For the Others, the set sucked! Stop the repetitive harmonizing and play your damn instruments! Get yourself a beat!

Also, they didn't play Foreground WTF

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 12:57 AM

Philly people--what did they play for the encore? I had to bolt to get the bus back to NYC and missed it. =(

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 1:37 AM

Man, those MHOW security people are TIGHT! No videos, not a chance for smokes lest you get laser pointed from above. Ridiculous.

Ed needs to step about 6 inches back from the mic. His vocals were really intrusive and borderline grating at points. Especially as harmonies during Dan's songs. Anyone else that was at the show agree?

Posted by @willbah | June 3, 2009 2:52 AM

>> NO

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 8:17 AM

"not a chance for smokes lest you get laser pointed from above. Ridiculous."

Smoking is illegal. What part of No Smoking do you not get? It's not a moral issue, the venues get fined for smoking patrons and could lose their liquor license.

Since smoking is more important that a show, perhaps you should go to Bushwick and go to an illegal venue. Or better yet, perhaps you should go back to the midwest where you came from.

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 9:35 AM

to 1:37 am, They played Colorado in Philly... Best they've played in 4 nights... Sad you missed it. It was the most chilling part of the show for me.

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 10:40 AM

philly was nice and they played "shift!"

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 12:30 PM

when are those douchebags from yesterday going to post some pictures of themselves?

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 12:50 PM

philly was fantastic! and victoria sang on two weeks! amazing!

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 2:20 PM

I guess you can't post links on Bklynvegan anymore. Pics from last night in Philly & Sunday in Brooklyn are up on Flickr by Playvicious.

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 2:29 PM

Hey, 9:35 - born and raised in brooklyn, so fuck off.

Posted by @willbah | June 3, 2009 4:36 PM

the "Midwest" put down is just stupid.

first of all, the grand majority of annoying college aged hipsters in New York aren't from the Midwest, they're from Westchester and Long Island and Jersey and Connecticut.

secondly, you've got to be a pretty dumb fucking New Yorker if you think New York has shit figured out better than anywhere else. New York is full of bullshit problems. It's one of the most corrupt cities in the Western world, and the income distribution here is just a fucking nightmare. Not to mention, all small business regulation is plagued by bribery, the cops are murderous racists, and fat cat assholes rule every artform. And it's got the heaviest tax burden in North America. And it's a fucking police state: more cops per capita than any other city outside of North Korea.

I love New York, but if you think we've got unequivocal reason to look down our noses at the rest of the country, you're a fucking moron.

Posted by Anonymous | June 3, 2009 6:45 PM

I know lotsa fucking annoying asshole idiots who were born here in New York. What the fuck is the point of "go back to the midwest" anyway? fuck you you brooklyn shithead. go back to your mama's house and fuck your sister some more

it's perfectly reasonable that he should post photos of himself, since he's such a fan of public critiques.

that he hasn't done so proves he's a coward, and a cad.
