McCarren Pool & other park names for sale

"The city is reportedly selling naming rights to some park facilities across the five boroughs. The New York Post says city officials are looking to raise revenue by selling the naming rights to seven Parks Department facilities.
Prices start at $2 million and go to $5 million, but officials tell the paper the prices are negotiable.
The park facilities include the Central Park Tennis Center, pools at McCarren Park and Flushing Meadows, the Chelsea Recreation Center, ball fields at DeWitt Clinton Park, the sports facility at Mill Pond Park in the Bronx, and a track and field house for the proposed Ocean Breeze Park on Staten Island." I absolutely hate the idea of having to plug a corporation to tell someone where I am going. It is ridiculous. Especially when these corporations are going under, and names are changing constantly.

If they rename the pool wouldn't that mean they therefore have to rename the whole park? Since McCarren Park Pool is part of Mccarren Park

"Originally named Greenpoint Park, the park was renamed McCarren Park in 1909 after Patrick Henry McCarren (1847-1909), an Irish immigrant who worked in the Williamsburg sugar refineries and eventually became a powerful State Senator in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The park is a popular destination for recreational softball, volleyball, soccer, handball, and other games. It is also used for sunbathing and dog-walking. In late 2004, the park's track was resurfaced and has been a popular destination for running enthusiasts."

I actually wouldn't mind if the pool were sponsered by organic Red Onions. (Doesn't have to be organic)
I just love those with Tuna!
