More people got Boss tix. Schumer stating the obvious?
Izod Center during/before a Bruce Springsteen concert (more by Tim Griffin)

"Tickets for Springsteen's three concerts at Giants Stadium this fall sold out in minutes on Monday.", and according to the Associated Press, NY Senator Charles Schumer said that "more fans managed to buy face value tickets this time." Could this be true? Let's do the math. This time the Boss is playing three shows at Giants Stadium. Last time there were two at the Izod Center....
Giants Stadium capacity: 55,000 (via)
Izod Center capacity: 20,000 (via)
TOTAL Bruce tickets this time: 165,000
TOTAL Bruce tickets last time: 40,000
Hmm. You decide. That said, Schumer is not exactly congratulating Ticketmaster. He is still trying to reform them.

you sure it holds just 55,000 ?
closer to 80,000 with the field used, i thought.

you are probably right. That info might be for a show with no field seats. That would make it an even funnier comparison.

Per TM for the Boss shows: "Tickets will not be sold behind the stage."
So, that's a good number of people who won't be there, compared to attendance at a football game.

As much as I'd like to see him at Bowery Ballroom, Giants Stadium is the right size of venue for Bruce in NJ. Anytime he plays a place like Izod Center for two nights only, it will be difficult for the average person to obtain tickets, even if there was no ticket broker left in the world. It's a matter of simple supply and demand really, but we feel the need to blame someone when we can't get tickets.

12:04 No, peope were angry because Ticketmaster was fraudulently witholding thousands of tickets for a reseller markup, without telling the public. Ass.
