What a letdown after last year's stronger lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 2:58 PM

lineup is lame

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:01 PM

lineup is great

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:03 PM

Francis and the Lights are terrible. It's like watching an epileptic trying to sing bad Prince cover songs.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:09 PM

thats a pretty lame lineup overall.

But Built to Spill will destroy all and make us forget how hot and humid it is / how much of a bummer the rest of the lineup is.

Justine D is hot!

the whiners should visit their moms that day... ooops, sorry, that's where they live...

Spank Rock is a noshow again??

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:27 PM

i just saw THEE OH SEES last night. was just ok, certainly nothing special. too bad, as PINK & BROWN were great. -L

Monotonix will be the most entertaining of the day.

Spank Rock is over, he missed his own boat. He's old school now.
They should of just bit their lip and booked Kid Cudi and Asher Roth.

Built To Split ok, meh. Would of been perfect with Sonic
Youth but a conflict of interest for them and their tour.

ANYONE ELSE EXCITED TO MAKE SNARKY COMMENTS ONCE THE FRANCIS AND THE LIGHTS PICS APPEAR?!

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:32 PM

How do we know that link is not a scam?

Hate to sound like a typical hater, but this really is a weak line-up.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 3:47 PM

Does Bear Hands bassist still dance like a douche if the show is free?

Posted by Vikram Pandit | June 17, 2009 3:51 PM

I'm looking forward to *both* The Raveonettes and APTBS.

So, go MEH yourselves.

a place to bury strangers will melt your face. so psyched.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 4:17 PM

Built to Spill, Future of the Left AND Thee Oh Sees for free? Yeah, totally weak lineup. Everyone please stay home.

Posted by dola | June 17, 2009 4:20 PM

Not excited about a daylight set but APTBS. But Built to Spill + Raveonettes + Frank Black is great for a free show.

Posted by northside festival organizer | June 17, 2009 4:22 PM

APTBS should stick to building pedals. Their music is shit.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 4:29 PM

Looking forward to Japandroid.

LINEUP SUCKS AS USUAL

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 5:22 PM

Francis and the Lights are pretty spectacular live...my vote's for the afterparty!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 5:39 PM

Nothing special except for BTS. I'll go see Q-Tip at central park and probably still make it in time for Built to Spill

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 7:00 PM

SIGHren festival

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 7:40 PM

The Raveonettes may make it worth the trek to CI. The idea in general of seeing rock bands in the daytime/daylight has never made much sense to me.

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 11:27 PM

So I take it "MEH" is the new "what time does Daft Punk go on". Neither one is very clever of funny. Typical for dopey, snarky hipsters!

Posted by Anonymous | June 17, 2009 11:30 PM

i am sick of "hipsters suck" comments

what sux is all the people who wear "flip flops" to the festival then whine & bitch about their feet getting "stepped" on. F OFF!

Posted by mkng frndz | June 18, 2009 3:38 AM

Agree, not a great line-up, but Built to Spill, for free, outdoors, in what might be the last year before Coney Island becomes the next development disaster? Count me in! One F-train ride for a free Built to Spill show! No complaints there!

Posted by Brian | June 18, 2009 1:54 PM

Japandroids have one of the best albums of the year, Bear Hands are fucking incredible and Mikachu and the Shapes are also pretty good and super quirky.

I'm with 4:20, everyone please stay home.
