NIN sucked last night. Janes Addiction bored us to tears. They were better when they toured with the Black Crowes.

I was there too. NIN were so bad. I thought Janes were cool, but could work on their live show more. It was pretty lame and predictable.

Street Sweeper Social Club? that's just retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 12:11 PM

Tom Morello not wearing his hat?

can't wait for jones beach tonight

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 1:07 PM

gawd thats unnecessary. straight to hell deserves more credit

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 1:17 PM

I don't like the sound of that, but PNC may be the worst venue around, NIN was awesome last time at Jones Beach, fingers crossed!

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 1:40 PM

my friend can't stop raving about last night's show

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 1:57 PM

PNC is a much better venue than Jones Beach, I hate to tell ya. NIN and JA were both great last night. Very tight, and the crowd was amped.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 2:03 PM

Jones Beach is a better sounding venue than PNC. People are usually more into it at Jones Beach too. I am psyched for NIN tonight!

Posted by wingwalker77 | June 7, 2009 2:09 PM

Oh Jones Beach is totally a better venue! I was at PNC last night. Janes addiction were ok. NIN blew. didn't hear Tom Morellos band.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 2:11 PM

You people are on crack. The sound at Jones Beach is awful b/c it's completely open-air, and the crowd is usually a bunch of stiffs. Unless you're up close in the orchestra, it's garbage. It's pretty, but that's about it. Plus, it's dry, which also sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 2:32 PM

PNC has to have some of the stupidest staff working at a venue. I'll take Jones Beach, thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 4:45 PM

NIN is a great group, their show just needs a little work!

Posted by cody | June 7, 2009 4:55 PM

true true. Jones Beach is WAY cooler than PNC. The sound is better. That's just a fact.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 7:59 PM

Man, the show at PNC last night was fucking EXCELLENT! I don't know what the hell you people are on!

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2009 10:39 PM

Janes Addiction killed it at Jones Beach tonight!

Jane has hired an architect to erect the addition to her house, I have heard.

Street Sweeper Social Club was one of the worst things ever and I can't believe Trent would be ok with them especially after criticizing chris cornell for his shitty new music with Timbaland. SSSC was straight out of late 90s rap rock collabs and manufactured for top 40 teenage tastes. Covering Paper Planes is insanely too unoriginal. Lead singer seemed like he was cast by a VH1 reality show. BARF

Saw NIN Saturday. Am a big fan and saw 2 shows before. Trent was completely different this time because he just seemed so happy. He put plenty of effort into performance (not into the visuals sadly) but it seemed impossible for him to connect to any of the darker lyrics from his old songs. His energy was great as usual, but he just came off as a really happy, healthy rockstar who's just putting on a good show. Only songs I really got into were Head like a Hole and Mr Self Destruct - and made sure to head bang around because hey, it's the end of something I loved so much from my youth. Too bad no mosh pits.

Makes sense that this is his "last tour" - he has taste and sense enough to know he's grown out of his "edge." Now he's gonna go make babies and drink lemonades instead of whatever fun drug and anger cocktails he was enjoying in the late 90s.

Not into Janes. That Perry is a weird fella. Oh and Dave Novarro had some pretttty stupid things on his nipples. Dude can play his instrument though.

Also, I do appreciate the Garden State Arts Center, it's just lovely!

jones beach last night was glorious

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2009 11:13 AM

NIN/JA last night @ Jones Beach was solid. Missed the SSSC set but don't really think I missed anything. NIN was great - the touring band can play, Trent seemed really into the performance, sound was excellent. Visuals weren't anything extravagent but they weren't the headliner (though should have been) and these Summer venues limit them, I think. Their show at IZOD last August was completely different visually while this tour is much more stripped down on that front. Anyway, highlight of the set was the guitarist smashing his guitar about a half an hour into the set and then they kicked into "Burn".
Jane's was OK - the music sounded great and the band was on, but Perry sounded a bit strained. Sould have loved to hear "Just Because" just to see Navarro play the opening riff, but I think that the original band members have ignored that the Strays album was ever released. Was good to see them in original form nonetheless...all in all a great night of music.

any setlists from NIN/JA last night?

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2009 12:40 PM

Janes play the same set list every night of the Nin/Ja tour. I don't know what NIN played. They have been changing it up. Jane's SHREDDED last night! NIN were ok, but can work on their live act a bit more.

Lead singer of SSSC is Boots Riley of The Coup.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2009 2:53 PM

anyone else notice that all bottled beverages were poured into cups "at the request of the band"?

guess perry really took getting nailed in the head by a bottle cap pretty seriously.
