I hope the sightlines are better this year. Lats year I was about a mile away from Radiohead when they were on.

How were you a mile away from Radiohead? It was a huge stage with only 30,000 people. I was there and the sightlines were great everywhere.
You must be four feet tall.

hey 158, fuck off.

Nope..about 6' 2"...I was on the right of the stage closer to the Bullet Stage. Had a group of 8 with me. Got as close as we could without cutting off people who were there before us which was still really far away!

Everything is much further apart. Last year was very quick to get from stage to stage.
But rotating the main stage so that you can see the statue makes a lot of sense.

that is where you fail. right side of stage was crowded cause of crowd shift...you could get up to SBD on left side till almost showtime. priorities

hey napoleon 204, get platform shoes
Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2009 2:11 PM
I had an okay view from the right side, but I would have to agree. If you wanted a better view of the stage, you should have gone to the left side. Great view of the skyline though when I turned around to look during the set.

After seing them in the GA Pit at Theater at MSG I didn't care how close I was 2:10....anyhoo the sightlines sucked..

if i can see the skyline and coldplay hits the right moody musical note at the same time... i might start crying and be at one with the universe. because life is grand.

"if i can see the skyline and coldplay hits the right moody musical note at the same time... i might start crying and be at one with the universe."

Oh man, look at all those PATHS! Back when I was a kid at APW we didn't get paths. We just walked through the grass uphill in every direction and WE LIKED IT.

Can't wait to hang out all day in the Beer Prisons!!
Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2009 2:35 PM
I was on the left side next to the soundboard for Radiohead and I could still barely see a thing, plus instead of showing what was happening on the screens they had some artsy 1960s crap movie thing going on. Really pretentious and annoying.

Will I be able to buy 10oz. bottles of water for more than $5 or more? God, I hope so. Who wants to pay less than that?
Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2009 2:39 PM
i'm going to steal your wallet while you're crying.

"Can't wait to hang out all day in the Beer Prisons!!"
Let's stop this before it starts....STFU, stop complaining, stay at home, listen to your iPod and drink a 30 pack with your "bros". I hope your air conditioning breaks!

Light rail was easy to take last year..I would leave a few minutes early on the end of the concert just to minmize waiting time etc..
Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2009 2:54 PM
The sightlines were bad if you were lazy bastards and waited until the last second to get to the stage- I was front and center for Radiohead.... yea, what.

I left after radiohead finished. refused to pay $20 for ferry on principle. Hung out in some small dance area where there was still music for 20 mins or so after, walked to light rail, massive crowd. Waited 20 minutes (?or more). Trains verrrrrry slow. Light rail took 20 - 30 minutes to to hoboken, wait 20 mins for path. It felt like foreeeeevvvvveerrrr. I got ferry tickets this year.
Posted by clairepetrol | July 30, 2009 3:16 PM
you can walk to nj transit station in Jersey City. Its about a 20 minute walk. at least you aint waiting or paying 20 bucks or whatever...
Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2009 3:19 PM
it's not an unreasonable walk to the path station. i might not recommend it to females traveling alone, but it probably beats waiting for the light rail, which will be massively overloaded after the concert.

If you didn't buy a RT ferry ticket when it cost $15, you're an idiot. The lack of annoyance, walks, lines, etc is well worth the cost.

Ferry Rules To Live By - get over there at 4pm and leave 20 mins before headliner ends all equals nearly no lines at all. Makes for a much better experience.
