i'm going to say this even though it's been said already but it needs to be repeated.

If jack white were not in this band nobody would give a shit about this music

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:07 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:07 PM

This is so pathetic.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:08 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:13 PM

band sucks! no substance to it!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:20 PM

who the fuck bought all those tickets to terminal five? White Stripes fans?

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:21 PM

Why are Kurt Loder and Matt Pinfield trying to be NY scenesters all the sudden? SRSLY it's depressing next thing you know Kennedy will drop a "think piece" on the Vivian Girls for BV.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:32 PM

the album is cool, admit it

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 5:59 PM

^^^
no, it's not.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 6:00 PM

yes it is... i guess you're the same person that's crying b/c the wavves guy broke his wrist, loser

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 6:07 PM

When i'm feeling upbeat about life i get a bit worried about my potential for creative output. So I come to Brooklyn Vegan to read the comments and drown myself in misery a bit.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 6:45 PM

Pinfield has been out of rehab for a couple of months now. And he isn't "trying" to be a NY scenester you dumb shit. He's been around for a long , long time... and his taste is anything but "scenester-ish". He praises 311 just as much as he does Arcade Fire. Sure he kisses a lot of ass, but I'm glad he's around. Pinfield really does know his shit when it comes to rock history.

Posted by wembley | July 14, 2009 7:04 PM

more like MEHslie Fram amirite?!?!?!?!?

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 7:05 PM

i dig the album

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 7:55 PM

People are probably lining up already...

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 8:07 PM

"He praises 311 just as much as he does Arcade Fire."

Your argument amounts to "Don't hate on this guy - he's a fucking retard with no taste in either mainstream or indie bands." You are probably excited for this billionth Jack White band.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 8:20 PM

Pinfield saved rock radio here in NYC, give the guy some credit.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 8:24 PM

i love comments about how this band and or their music is no good. did you listen to their album yet? i bet you didn't.

it didn't come out till today. they streamed it recently for a day or two, but otherwise you are full of shit.

you probably don't like the beatles or led zeppelin either. or daft punk.

jack white is good, very good....amazing even.

deal with it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 8:37 PM

The album/their music is actually good, give it a shot!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 9:05 PM

The album/their music is actually dull, go listen to Albert King.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 9:49 PM

I can't stop listening to the new cd - it's really good. Can't wait until Thurs night! BTW, Matt Pinfield is cooler than 95% of you so-called hipster idiots out there. He actually knows music, not just whatever indie crap Pitchfork is pushing. Anon 8:20, yeah I mean people like you!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 11:00 PM

dead silence >>>>>> anything by The Dead Weather

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 11:09 PM

"The album/their music is actually dull, go listen to Albert King."

It is possible to enjoy both Albert King and the Dead Weather.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 11:18 PM

I love Albert King and so far I like the Dead Weather. At least anon 9:49 told us what they like instead of just bad mouthing a band.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2009 11:23 PM

does anyone listen to radio

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 8:03 AM

Hey guys, Jack White here. Glad you're enjoying the new album. Can't wait to see you at the shows. Oh- sorry I'm more interesting, talented, successful than you. I guess I just work a lot harder, and have better instincts. No hard feelings though! See you Thurs.

was that supposed to be witty? try harder, fanboy.

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 10:08 AM

i'll stick with dead meadow..

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 12:14 PM

@6:07

who the fuck are the wavves?

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 2:11 PM

@ anon 8:37pm

I did listen to the album, twice. Jack White is wasting his time with this band. Any other drummer (except maybe Meg White) could easily take his place and the only thing they'd lose is publicity. But that's why he's there, isn't it?

His time would be much better spent working on the next Raconteurs album. 'Consolers of the Lonely' is an amazing record, while The Dead Weather is just average at best.

I understand this is Jack White, so there will inevitably be some people who feel he can do no wrong and will love anything he's involved with, no matter what. But this just isn't worth his time. He could be focusing his creative energy on something so much better.

As for liking Led Zeppelin, click on my name and get back to me on who's a fan and who isn't. And I sincerely hope you weren't comparing The Dead Weather to Zeppelin or The Beatles. That's just embarrassing.

Posted by FRX | July 15, 2009 2:23 PM

So, being an annoying tool, looking like Telly Savalas, obsessing/dorking out about horrible bands and not reading pitchfork makes you cool? What the hell kind of litmus test is that?

Jack White is talented but Dead Weather is mediocre at best and a sad attempt by Mr. White to "throw his fans a curve ball".

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 2:25 PM

nobody is saying Pinfield is "cool". But he is a pretty kickass DJ. Yes, some people actually do listen to the radio.

Posted by Anonymous | July 15, 2009 5:03 PM

so who's in line?

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 11:13 AM

i was in line for about 6 hours and got some sweet sweet vinyl,, in store starts soon!

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:01 PM

how is the store? worth checking out? was thinking of going tomorrow, b/c i'm going to the show tonight and want to see what they're selling at the show first

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:04 PM

its small and most of the vinyl now left you can get in any record store,, it's covered head to toe in a rob jones poster made for the nyc store opening and the band plays downstairs

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:12 PM

that sounds cool... are there posters for sale? or just for decoration? i'll probably go either way, just b/c i think it's cool that they're doing this

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:18 PM

the metal prints were awesome, but cost 125 each, rob jones makes some sick posters, but the regular poster stock ones were limited to 100 and im sure they are gone by now.. they are the same ones hanging all over the store, so maybe you can peel one off, or rumage through the garbage when they close the place down

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:21 PM

got it- thanks for the info. hopefully they'll have cool posters for sale at the shows, like they usually do- i'm a big rob jones fan, his stuff is really wild and out there

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:24 PM

the poster was a stripped down version of the metal print that had the nyc store dates on them, they will prob have show exclusive posters tonight with the same design

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:27 PM

good to know- i may splurge on a metal print, depending if it's different enough from the show poster. it feels like christmas

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:33 PM

those metal prints are gone
they had 19 printed/ 4 differnt versions and split them amongst nyc and nashville,, they were huge
18x24 atleast or the next size up,, kinda looked like the terminator

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 12:37 PM

wow- gone already, i figured that would've happened. so i guess i'll just pray i can get a poster tonight... will still stop by the store tomorrow though, just in case they re-up

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 1:16 PM

how was the show????

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 1:32 PM

Show was fucking unbelievable. All doubts about this band are vanished from my head.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 2:01 PM

the show was sick but if you were not in the front u couldn't see shit

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 2:17 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 2:48 PM

Did they have any cool/rare WS shit?

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 4:47 PM

Sure the people waiting around outside LOOK like very nice people, but they could all be gutter punks too!

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 4:57 PM

@ 2:11

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2009 5:44 PM
