Um ok, so the New York Philharmonic's performance of Aaron Copland's "Connotations for Orchestra."
The reason that I like this record so much, uh, aside from the fact that it's amazing is, um, I feel like it was kind of overlooked when it actually came out and now it's like this absolute classic record. But, uh, when it was actually reviewed, when it came out, it really didn't do very...I mean it did well, but it didn't do extremely well. Rolling Stone at the time gave it like..I think 2 out of 5 stars or something like that. And then when they re-released it they said it was 5 out of 5 stars, when they did the next review. But it was just a very important record in my formidable years and, um, it's a classic pop record.

fireworks? you mean - 2 minutes of fireworks obscured by the trees b/c they shot them off behind belvedere castle instead of behind the stage.

The sound was absolutely awful.
The stage was pointed in the wrong direction.
And they shot off the fireworks behind the tallest trees in the area.
Well planned, people.

Sound was great where I was, and I could see the fireworks. All five of them. Woooo, don't want to get us all worked up!
Why on earth they chose that Mendelssohn for the encore I don't know. I was quite close to the stage and still couldn't hear it. It's outdoors, the crowd is over 10,000, you have to go big, guys!
