Highline Ballroom is confirming that "Rufus Wainwright, The Roches, Martha Wainwright + more" will appear with Loudon Wainwright at their NYC venue on September 15th. It's still Loudon's show though, and it's not clear if that means one song each from the guests, lots of group sing-alongs, separate sets or what. Either way. Lots of Wainwright family action in the house. Tickets are on sale.

Loudon's new album "High Wide & Handsome, The Charlie Poole Project" will be released on August 18th. More info in the video below...

Loudon Wainwright III and producer Dick Connette immersed themselves in the Poole canon and they also penned nine new songs about the life and times of the country music pioneer. Connette and Wainwright drew inspiration from Kinney Rorrer's definitive biography of Poole, Ramblin' Blues, and even visited Poole's hometown of Spray, NC, with Kinney as their tour guide. They also, however, allowed themselves a little narrative poetic license.

Who likes this family? It's all such uptight, tweedy music to accompany LLBean catalog shopping.
