"spank rock is playing on the williamsburg bridge in 10 minutes (12am). this is not a joke. GO. NOW." - Anonymous | July 18, 2009 11:55 PM

Spank Rock on a bridge

The bridge party happened at midnight. Earlier in the evening, Spank Rock was carried off stage by security at the end of his/their 2nd stage-headlining set at the Siren Festival in Coney Island.

Nobody got arrested on the bridge which Spank Rock, and Ninjasonik, apparently had everyone jumping up and down on to see if they could make it bounce. Anyone have video? Video from Siren below...

"why were they carried off stage by security at siren?"

Because he was acting like an idiot

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 2:25 PM

nobody got arrested... just glad nobody died.

"Because he was acting like an idiot"

yes, i figured it was not because he was acting too polite. what, may i inquire from someone who was actually there and who can write in specifics, did he do that was idiotic?

playing past the cutoff time. *yawn*

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 2:48 PM

who cares.

whatever happened to good music?

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 2:59 PM

"whatever happened to good music?"

Seriously. This is absolute garbage. Perhaps one notch up from 2 Live Crew in the musical phylogenetic tree. No one older than 21 or 22 should be caught dead listening to this shit.

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 3:11 PM

some 2 live crew stuff is good. and whats wrong with music for people under 22, old timer?

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 3:13 PM

They played just barely past the cutoff time and were told to shut down. They started chanting "one-more song" and security got pissy. They stayed on stage, trying to rally support, until one of the DJs was more or less pushed off stage, then one of the guys literally picked Spank Rock up to carry him off stage. Pretty funny stuff.

I wanted to be open minded about it, but the set sucked. Sound was blown-out (adjust your input volume on the mp3s you're putting in your Serato!) - Amanda Blank sucks, Ninjasonik have absolutely no raps.

Spank Rock died with Studio B - 3 years ago.

RIP.

Someone please snuff Amanda Blank and bring back
Roxy Cottontail - SIIIKE!

WOW SO FUCKING DANGEROUS DAMN BROOKLYN, YOURE FUCKING REBELS!!! CHECK OUT MY ARM TATTOO BROOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 3:59 PM

Don't think anyone on the bridge was concerned about anything but having a good time. Spank Rock and Ninjasonik are fun times..... nothing more nothing less.

Glad the above commentators decided not to attend, cause you most certainly would have ruined the great party vibe enjoyed by all there!

Somebody gonna get pregnant.

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 4:21 PM

i've learned it's much easier to look like you're having fun in life, than to actually have fun.

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 4:46 PM

Absolute garbage. What a bunch of suckers. I either gotta give him credit though for milking his tired formulaic crap for his own $ gain or cry myself to sleep in sadness. Someone tell him 2006 is over and he will never replicate this energy and performance again (he even needed help here if you remember)

Haters are killing NYC. You people are so boring, please go back to Nebraska and listen to Bright Eyes exclusively. Don't bother going to epic, spur of the moment concerts on the top of a bridge in Brooklyn. What did you move here for? To sit in your crappy apartments and write vitriolic comments on blogs. Get a life people, good or bad its about having FUN.

.

Some of us didn't move here, dick wad. Maybe you're the one who should leave.

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 11:14 PM

2006 god, how time flies, how young we looked back then. Anyone have some good MGMT clips?

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2009 11:24 PM

looks like a bunch of @ssholes out there in the middle of the nite. i knew about this, just decided not to be a tool and go out there.

Posted by Anonymous | July 21, 2009 12:18 AM

I really don't get why most of you read, let alone post comments, on this blog. Yes - Brooklyn, and Williamsburg in particular, is full of a bunch of hipster douches. Welcome to every other city in the country. There are still people, even among these disgusting hipsters, that like to have fun. I could give a shit about Spank Rock or Ninjasonik but what's not to like about an impromptu and completely illegal show? Some of the best shows happen that way.

I wasn't there and I don't live anywhere near NYC. I'm too cool to hardly even move when I see my favorite bands.

But just shut the fuck up already.

Posted by Anonymous | July 21, 2009 1:09 AM

people still like this guy?

Posted by d | July 21, 2009 1:40 AM

Spank Rock is great and definitely a step into the future (if you compare them with 2LiveCrew). All the shows rockin and they have a great irony in their lyrics. maybe not everybody of the guys in this thread will understand this.

Posted by bob | July 21, 2009 4:42 AM

@anon 11:14 . Enlighten me please to the last show you went to and actually liked. And because your from long island doesn't mean your from "here," guy.

Posted by Spanky | July 21, 2009 9:43 AM

shake it til my dick turn racist

Posted by Anonymous | July 21, 2009 10:08 AM

wtf! how did people know about the show on the bridge? fucking hipster esp?

Posted by aly. | July 21, 2009 1:51 PM

"how many times can you throw the same party?"

LOLLLL SOOO MANY.

Posted by Anonymous | July 21, 2009 8:55 PM

"looks like a bunch of @ssholes out there in the middle of the nite. i knew about this, just decided not to be a tool and go out there."

Could you explain how going to secret party in the middle of a bridge where someone who had headlined a large festival earlier that day makes you a tool?

Would it have been better to just go to Siren Fest and see Spank Rock with the thousands of people there instead?

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2009 12:48 PM

FUCK YOUR LIFE!

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2009 1:50 PM

Too bad the crowd didn't start chanting, "Go Back To Philadelphia And Just Stand Outside The Ubiq Sneaker Store On Walnut Street"

Because that's all this talentless piece of shit does.

Yes, I'm hating

Don't get me started on the same group of middle aged women that you see dancing stage left at every "performance".
