went to the ear & eye thing at the knitting factory last nite . DE PRESSING .... the club feels like a haunted squat lost in space .. with 5-10 people wandering aimlessly in and out of empty rooms, and bartenders sell 1 PBR every 20 mins.

yea...not really ideal. should be better tonight, lineup is way better than last night.

I hope the ear and eye fest tonight is good. Its seems like two or so of the bands are rotating members with other bands to make new projects. Hope that sounds different than their original groups.
Child Abuse puts on a good show.

Sound at Whitney was fucking stellar. Real Estate were excellent, best I've ever seen them, and Titus Andronicus' set got cut 1 song short by Whitney security distressed by the moshing kids, obvs were great no surprise.

Pains were boring, and being outdoors did not work for well for them.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2009 11:36 PM

chugga-chugga, wang wang, double-dee-doo-dee

I gotta perk-O-set, him, her, them and thee

i went to the seaport for the first time and it was more of an outdoor bar with live music then a show. people were having a beer and chatting, lot of people not even facing the stage. still a good time but not what i was expecting.

is that what seaport shows are usually like?

"Pains were boring, and being outdoors did not work for well for them."

pretty much, go on a night with good bands though.
might i suggest black moth super rainbow on 7/24, or school of seven bells on 8/14.

hey guise just wanna apologize for taking that giant shit on the floor at the real estate show, srsly that was like sooo out of character for me :-(

Whitney show great! Real Estate sounded awesome as did Titus. And as 10:41 said first security stopped Titus midsong then allowed them to continue only to stop the show completely with a song or two left. Oh well still a good time! Guess you just can't stop the kids from having fun.

"wa wa wa. people weren't paying attention to the band. wa wa wa."

I'm so sick that sentiment. Reminds me of the hardcore show blowhards from when I was 15.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2009 12:14 PM

crowd surfing at the Whitney is something I thought i'd never see. titus seem to bring out the really young teenagers.

You mean last year? If you want to smoke and get away from your parents, go to a party. Let the grown ups watch music.
