Rock the Bells special guest = Daft Punk
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 12:59 PM
i am almost certain that if last week was any indication of set times, the first band of the day will be starting at 3pm, but then getting messed up for the rest of the day from long set up times in between sets.

Given that the shows happen between 2pm and 8pm and there are only 3 bands, it would seem they would hold off on the start time a little bit. last week there were 4, so presumably the first would have started a little earlier then.

Anyone know the start times for AB and Lee Perry at Central Park, and who is playing when? Cheers

official might not be accurate though. last week they were off by about an hour. curfew is 7:30 so figure DP on at 6:30 or so, my guess.

wow...crystal antlers are horrible
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 6:10 PM
Crazy busy for Dirty Projectors. The guy who used to constantly post on here about how unpopular DP are has got nothing left in his tank at this point.
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 8:08 PM
when did popular = good?
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 8:21 PM
No one said anything about "good."
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 8:50 PM
always judge a band's popularity by how many people show up at a free show in an overhyped neighborhood on a decent summer day by the waterfront in a park that serves food & alcohol to see them play along with a handful of other bands. that'll definitely give you an accurate read of said individual band's "popularity"...dumbass.

yeah DJ logic, great point. didn't you guys see that huge crowd for jemina pearl last week?
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 9:25 PM
vagina (this is a good thing; i enjoy vaginas and appreciate them) pearl
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 9:37 PM
yeah i'm certain the hipsters went to the waterfront for the six dollar alcohol that they must drink in a fenced in area, and not for the music

the new setup is really really shitty any way you put it...really poorly set up
great view and decent sound though - so i guess thats all you really need.

For all their corporate dick sucking I can't believe they are so stingey with free VIP booze
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 10:41 PM
The Slip should headline
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 10:53 PM
whatever you do, don't judge their popularity by anything solid, concrete & statistically verifiable, such as album sales, MP3 downloads or concert ticket sales. no....judge their popularity by how many people showed up to a free show. definitely. that makes a *whole* lot of sense. gosh...you sure showed me. I am in awe of your reasoning skills, sir.
Posted by DJ Logic | July 19, 2009 11:19 PM
jeez you whiny people can't even appreciate a free show. ohh boo hoo it was too hot, no free beer, too many sponsors. just stay home next time.
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 11:32 PM
Wow, so that guy is back again. Awesome. We still didn't ever get to the bottom of why you're so obsessed with the popularity (or otherwise) of Dirty Projectors.
Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2009 11:43 PM
sorry. not the same guy. i have no idea what you're talking about. i just can't stand listening to people say dumb shit and trying to pass it off as objective truth. i was at the show. i like dirty projectors. i don't like listening to idiots who can't add 2+2 properly is all.

save us from ourselves.

i would like to acknowledge that the clientele have always been a rather mediocre live band but absolutely suck since they added the chick. she fucks up their best songs.
im a massive buckner fan but by god, his set was pretty depressing and pretty much emptied the room.
ladybug transistor were alright actually...nice enough.
