If you have yet to kayak by yourself, then it is highly recommended that you go out with someone having kayaking experience. Even though most kayakers prefer a calm ride, there are some things you’ll want to carefully watch. You might, for example, want to wait a bit before buying a kayak for yourself until you get the hang of riding and paddling one.

DAWES! At Union Hall!

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2009 1:58 PM

Dawes is bad country for indie-posers. I couldn't get far enough away from their shit music at the Bowery show. Deer Tick is new
alt-country done without sounding like a straight Randy Travis
rip off for 20-somethings (a la Dawes).

that junior boys song is very good. fat white boy has some soul.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2009 11:02 PM

Yeah, some songs. Over all the waterfront show was good though. Definitely ended better than it started -still a little grating on the ears.

What was up with that strange latin band at the pool party? They were talented and all, but there was a definite disconnect between their music and Health / Black Lips / ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead.

And who were the fools yelling "Uno mas!" at the end of their set????!!!

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2009 11:52 PM

Junior you are the best.

I got there just in time for Trail of Dead and the show was called off all of 5 seconds before they were suposed to take the stage! Lame! I'm pretty sure that was my only pool party for the year! It makes the fact that I missed MOB/Fucked Up becuase or work all the more upsetting! :(
